I tried recording a thunderstorm several months ago. Ever since then, my microphone (33-306 RadioShack universal cassette recorder microphone) only records a constant hum. It didn't get wet at all (it was behind a window with a screen) and it works perfectly on other computers. I'm thinking it might have had something to do with the lightning, though it never got close to my house. Now I'd like to record sound effects for a game. What should I do?

fast forward, reverse the cassette and fast forward again. if the tape is too tight the current sensor will always trip out the motor.

I purchased my EWR20V5 unit in December 2006. After 10 months usage it developed several problems
I've almost thrown this unit out several times, but I wasn't sure if I had to get the same unit to finalize my disks?. Is there a solution for all these problems?

SOURCE: how to record sounds using external mic on acer aspire 4315???
go to the sound recorder available at start ---> programs ---> accessories then entertainment ----> sound recorder.
click on edit -----> Audio properties -------> default input device and change it to the external Mic you have connected.
let me know if this helped, good luck :)

It sounds like the software is having trouble locating a recording device. If you go in to the settings for the application, you should be able to select/see the audio input devices. Does the device you are trying to record to show up and is it selected as the active recording device?

The "tell which product it is" text box really needs to be longer. This was meant to be a question about the 1501's microphone jack.
