The dishwasher usually drains into disposal, or directly into tailpiece, and water drains down to the p-trap.
Trap may be clogged or stopped up.
Clean out drain line, tighten connection where dishwasher attaches.
Clean out bottom of disposal under cutter blade.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher repeatss the drain mode and won't progress to the fill mode. I replaced the fill valve, checked the current to the valve and made sure water supply is good.

send the full model number off of the dish washer.some of the newer dish washers are copying bosch,if water gets into the base or the machine thinks it's flooding it will keep on draining,it can be as simple as pulling the dish washer out and tilt it to a 45 degree angle the water will spill out and it will work again or the water will evaporate in time as long as there's no leaks also if there's to much suds it will also cause this,it can't pump out suds and suds and water can leak out from under the door and do this,do you have this style i don't know just a guess, you can get the model number and go to utube or google it and you'll find out if you have this in your model but this is what it sounds like,or you could have a bad computer board,if you remove the bottom panel there should be a tech sheet there that will help you out,you can run it in a diagnostics mode, good luck, you can try also to unplug it for like 10 minutes, plug it back in and hit the cancel button and let it drain for the full 2 minutes,it might reset the board but like i said if it has that overflow issue it won't stop.

Water backs up from the drain in my dishwasher and smells. what is the problem?

Two things can cause this problem:
1. The check valve in your dishwasher may be defective, allowing water and food debris to seep (or run) back into your dishwasher.
2. Your drain hose may not be "mounted up" the way it should be. Look under your sink. Look at how your drain hose is connected to your garbage disposal. If the hose runs down to the floor of your cabinet and into your dishwasher, that is wrong. Instead, it should be mounted up so that water from the sink and garbage disposal would have to flow up first to get into the dishwasher. If you do this, then even if you have a bad check-valve in the dishwasher, it will prevent the problem (or greatly reduce the problem) of dirty water flowing back into your dishwasher.

Want to bypass the pump

Usually, water supply goes to the dishwasher from under the sink and should have a separate shut-off valve for both the hot supply and the cold supply. If you have these valves, you could disconnect the supply to the dish washer and drain water out of the pipe. then you can disconnect the pump discharge to get most of the water out of the pump. I hope you understand that a dripping faucet will allow enough "heat in the water" to prevent freezing.

Electrolux dishwasher overflows

Two things to consider....clean water or dirty water?

Clean water usually indicates the fill valve is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water in all the time = new fill valve time!!

Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose. The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem indicates a slow house drain for that sink.

The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.

My dish washer does not draining

It is a common fault that the drain fails to work in most machines in a period of time and is the most problematic fault in a dish washing machine due to food waste accumulation. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged. Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

I have the pentair 011523 whisperflo and our spool is going to overflow from all the rain we have been having. I know that there is a way to attach a hose flip a switch and drain some of the water to...

To drain the pool, you have to change the position of your "backwash" valve.
Shut off the pump.
See if there is a DRAIN position on the backwash valve.
You could probably use the BACKWASH position, too, only water will go through the filter and then out the normal backwash pipe.
Turn the pump on briefly to see which pipe water comes out. Shut the pump.
Put discharge hose on that pipe.
Turn pump on until pool is low enough.
Return backwash valve to filter position.

Miele Dishwasher G841 - Water not draining after wash cycle

If you suspect the dish washer, try discharging the drain in a bucket. After the drain cycle check the wash tub. If water is still left, you have to clean the drain filter attached to the bottom. Refer user guide.

The final drain end of the dish washer where you discharge, the fixing junction has to be cleaned, incase it is clogged.

Water pours from drain hose overflow in front of washer

That drain hose in front has a stopper, to prevent discharge. Either it is not there or not tight or something. You can always clog it shut with a round wood bit inserted or something........I don't think it is too difficult.

My washer does not drain. Water accumulates even after the rinse and spin cycle. The machine does not overflow water. Could it be that the discharge pump is causing the problem? Second, if that is the...

lonestarr, the pump would be the first culprit to check. I believe that the pump in this model is electric and not driven by a pulley, so switching out should be easy. First you want to verify that you have power going to the pump while in the drain cycle. If you have power going to it and it's not pumping water out you can be pretty sure that is the problem. The front panel can be removed by removing the two screws at the bottom and lifting out. Now you can get a good look at the motor and pump assy. The part number for the pump is WH23X10009. Priced around 85.00. Catriver...post back.
