I found a dell laptop but i cant get into it. It comes up with the service tag and prompts for a password. Can anyone tell me how to clear or get around the password. Removing the cmos battery doesnt help. Can anyone help?

It sounds like you are prompted to enter bios password. Call dell tech support and they will generate unlosk code for you.

thanks for the help
i have the same problem please help me on this
I have some what the similar issue as well. My laptop has a security lock feature in the BIOS, that i had discover after a re installation of the OS.
I know for the security feature being lifted from the system by just resting the C-MOS battery but i don't want to have to resort to that so i am now looking for another way as to how i can get that sorted out.
Answering such a question is not ethical, cause if it was mine I would wished that no one could help you to enter to my PC (Personal Computer)!!!
You "found" the laptop?? ...where was it on someones car seat in a car park??
