Dirver side power seat not working?

I've got a 2005 Passat GLX (bought it new); took it in for an oil change, and the mechanic also cleaned my cabin filter. I leave his shop and I realize I don't have power seats no more on the driver's side (passenger side fine)....neither backward/forward or up and down, (separate motors, I believe)....Coincidence????? I don't know-never had any problems before. The car has 65,000 original miles.

The guy checked the fuses on the dashboard driver side, near door....seemed alright. They were closing so he told me to come back Monday....I'm thinking of taking it back to dealer (I lost trust in this guy).

Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong???

Drivers seat 2000 outback

So here is a diagram of the seat circuitry for your car. Since every other function works except the forward/backward slide function, that leaves basically the forward/backward slide motor, the seat switch, and/or the wiring. If you can verify that the wiring under the seat is in good condition without obstructions, chaffed wires, and/or wires pulled too tight, then it's safe to say it's down to just the motor and/or the switch. Sometimes if the passengers front seat has the same switch, you can plug it in to the drivers' side connector and see what works and what doesn't. If the seat works fine with the other switch, then that's all it needs, if not then it will need a motor. If the other seat doesn't have a switch then you can find them at wrecking yards, or just supply power and ground to the motor in question to see if it works. If it does, then you know you kneed a switch and if not then a motor.
I hope this info helps!~subyguru~

2005 ford 500 seat won't go forward, but will go up and down and lean back don't have manual to check right fuse.

I don't know for sure about the Ford 500 but in general the manufacturers don't have a lot of room for extra fuses and wires so probably only one fuse goes to the seat or seats. I would find the fuse box and hopefully the fuses are all labeled.

I assume the seat at one time went forward and backward. What can stop it from doing this is something like a rock getting in the gear and stopping the motor from moving or maybe just dying on its own. It could instead be a wire or connector.

I hope this helps.

Intermatic outdoor can't reprogram. display reads NoOp

Les, First thing to do is to change the battery and see if the timer will allow you to reprogram it. Sometimes these timers will fail, as some models have a known history of failing fairly often.

NoOp, means non operating within the Intermatic line of electronic timers, so in order to see if the unit has failed or is just malfunctioning, due to a weak battery, remove the existing battery and install a fresh, new one.

You can remove the existing battery by flipping down the front switch panel and removing the battery tray with either your fingernail or a small flat bladed screwdriver. As your timer is showing the NoOp, you don't have to worry about losing your programmed on/off cycles, so you can take your time. Normally, if you're changing the battery, you get about 30 seconds to do this with some models of Intermatic timers, or you'll lose the settings. The newer models store the program regardless of how long it takes to change the battery.

Once you've replaced the battery, press the Reset button on the timer and allow it to refresh. If the NoOp is gone, just reprogram the timer with your on/off cycles and days and you're back in action. If the timer doesn't clear, you'll likely need to replace it, as it could be damaged and will not be able to be programmed again.

Usually, changing the battery and resetting the timer works about 60% of the time for me, as I've installed thousands of the various Intermatic timers in customer's homes over the years.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Bmw z3 passenger seat goes forward backwards but

It can also be theseat motor since there is seperate motors for up/down & forward/backwards. You can test the switch to see if you are getting power to the connector on the motor by using a multimeter.

If there is power to the motor, I would remove the motor and give it a tap on the ground. Alot of the time the motor is fine, and the tap will free it up again. If it doesn't work you may be up for a new seat motor. Giving mine a tap solved the issue with mine.
