My g1 wont install on vista?

Everytime i press mount and plug my g1 into my lap top it says wont install after trying for a while and asks for a disc and then it says to call the manufacturer on my computer i dont know if its vista or the phone. But it still lets me put my music on the phone and transfer pictures just the only problem is it keeps importing all my pictures instead of just one so i wind up having to delete a bunch of copies on my computer of the same pics.Does any one know why it wont install on vista?
thanks

When I plug in my G1, it's not recognized in the "Computer" folder even when I choose to mount the drive. If there is no on that knows how to resolve this, is there something we can do to get this resolved via Microsoft or HTC?

Mine refuses to mount, the card can be read directly from a reader but when I mount it on the G1 it shows up as an Unallocated volume in windows disk management.

Ok people i have solved the problem with the g1 not recognizing being hooked up to the computer. the usb cords that are sent with the g1 are very crappy. use another usb mini to connect to your computer. theres no installation required just hook it up and select mount and open up my computer and go to removable disk to access you files.

I run Vista on my Laptop and my G1 runs fine.

Plug cable into laptop and G1, select mount from the drop down menu on G1.

Your computer should run AutoPlay, asking what you would like to do, select Open Folder.

If AutoPlay does show up, go through My Computer and Select the Removable Drive

My lap top is opening the desk top, Its asking for Vista Product key, what should I do?

You must type in the Vista Product Key from your Vista Disc or purchase a licence direct from Microsoft or use a different operating system like Linux or Ubunta, the latter is free ware and is open source.

Can you provide me a software driver installer for my htc g1? I cannot use my htc g1 to my computer because there's no software driver installer. I wish and i'm sure that you're the one who can help to...

hello, seems like awhile ago but i hope i can help still.. no software is required to manage your sd card on the g1. what you need to do is plug the g1 to the computer using the usb cable. then when that happens you should get a notification on the top of the g1 screen saying usb connected. then you put your finger on the notification tab and drag it down. click on the option in the notification screen. then select to mount to access your g1. then on you computer you should get a screen asking how you want to view files. if that doent work go to my computer and you should see removabe disk and thats your phone.

Installing XP over vista

if your asking to install XP on top of vista.. if you do not like vista, then ur listening to your friends who have no idea what their talking about because its awesome and when windows 7 comes out youll be stunned...this is verry easy if you have XP disc ready, restart your computer you need to wipe ur hard drive to get rid of the old operating system, first save any thing you want thus wiping hard drive saves nothing.... techniquly its still there but ya....put in disc of XP and run the disc to install XP,. ACTIVATE IT AND WALA

Lost installation disc of Z640

  1. Go to the Lexmark Find Drivers/Product Selector page.
  2. Enter Lexmark Z640 under "Search by Model", and click the Search button.
  3. Select your OS from the dropdown (XP, Vista etc.).
  4. Click Download Now.
  5. If you're asked to Save or Run, choose to Run (it keeps you from having to go find the file and double-click it later).

Just wondering

well you can but if its inst on your laptop you will be stuck with the problem of getting the drivers, This can be archived by downloading it fromn the manufactures web page.

1.) put in the disc with vista
reset the computer
upon turning it on it says press "some" key e.g f9 to select boot options
press the assigned key and the computer will boot from the disc drive.,
now follow the options to install windows vista.
