Hi

First remove the cover, air filter and the carburator. Then remove the gas tank cap and the fuel filter from inside of gas tank,at the end of fuel line.Take off the fuel line from the hole of the gas tank(at the top),replace the fuel line, put all back together and start the engine.

SOURCE: fuel lines on a craftsman chain saw need to be

just connect them both anyway you chose. press prime button a few times to pressurise tank. you get a 50/50 chance to get it right.
if it just sucking air release pressure first by removing filler cap to prevent face full of fuel then swap pipes over on carb. i did this job a couple of weeks a go on my husky66. only use proper flexy pipe from a lawn mower centre. costs about £2.50 / foot.

SOURCE: Poulan " Wild Thing

It is running lean, they always need to run a little on the rich side free running, once the engine is loaded it will then need the excess fuel, it runs ok without the bar and chain because there is no load, start by replacing the fuel filter in the fuel tank, check the fuel hose up to the carb for signs of fuel leakage, replace if reqired, if the carb has standard adjuster screws, increase the H screw by 1/4 turn out ( anto clockwise ) this will richen the mixture.

SOURCE: My Husky Chain 18 in saw wont start after replacing fuel line

I have seen the current gas eat away and melt fuel lines. I would bet there is some gunk in the carb which is why you are not seeing fuel on the plug. You will need to remove, disassemble, and clean the carb. If you haven't done it already make sure you replace the fuel filter too.

42cc 2cycle poulan chain saw does not start spark plug fires has fuel, fuel in fuel lines seems there is some blow-back in the carb when I turn the engine over don't know much about chain saw motors, if...

Here is a Link to a couple of my Tips. They should solve your problems:
www.fixya.com/support/r6081405-cleaning_small_engie_carburetor

I don't know anything about outboard motors, so I can't answer the reed valve question. There is a needle valve on the diaphragm side of the carburetor though. Maybe these two parts perform that operation.

Good Luck!

I have a Polan Model 2375 Wild Thing Chain Saw. The fuel lines have deterioated and I need to know correct routing of fuel lines. The primer bulb has to line connectors, one small diameter and one large...

A Poulan IPL for your saw “2375LE Gas Saw Type?” (LE is code for WildThing; if your saw is beyond serial -2 look at a saw without the LE; it makes little difference to the fuel system) can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

  • Small hose (filter on bottom) long enough to reach all corners inside tank, to lower carburetor connection. Please leave the 2 carburetor connections long enough to reverse until the saw is running.
  • Upper carburetor connection, small hose to suction side of primer.
  • Pressure side of primer (large hose) to tank fitting.
The IPL is deceptive it appears the filtered hose connects to the primer; it does not.

A typical fuel system and suggestion or 2 follow:

I need a new primer bulb Poulan WildThing 42cc CS

Item 18 on the "Engine Assembly" detail IPL here:
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP4218AVX-Gas-Saw/75.PP4218AVX-Gas-Saw.1.59.1.html
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is the only detail for fuel line routing and it is sketchy at best; components are listed but may be on different illustrations.

If this is not your saw you can fin d your here:
Poulan.com

The dash number of your serial number is the type.

If no primer bulb it is like the video.

  • The hose in the tank with the filter on the free end connects directly to the carburetor input connection.

My Poulan 3500 chain saw will not start

My guess is that one of your fuel lines has a crack or small hole in it. Inspect these and replace if needed. let me know how it goes.
