Sony bdp sys err

After installing the update from sony my bdp shows "sys err". When it's on it ejects the tray and if you put a disc in the tray it will just be turning the CD around. It will still show sys err. I burned the same update on a CD and put it in... still the same problem. Now I've got my Blu-Ray Player open. I tried various things with this player just in order to fix it. I noticed that the ventilation behind doesn't turn and that none of the controls in front work except the power button. Sony is of no help to me. Grateful for any helpful answers :D

You mus reinstall the driver. Download from your company.
2) uninstall and reinstall again this will be fix it.
3) otherwise you must test the connection inside.
4) clean the OPU, and call some tech prof.
God bless you

SOURCE: firmware update for Element Blu-ray player

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I couldn't solve the problem with these solutions. I tried a DVD, I tried 3 CD's burned from 2 different computers, I waited for 5 minutes, I waited for 5 hours. Nothing worked. So I used my work computer that is running XP and it worked perfectly. So if you are burning the disk from a vista computer I don't think it will work.

I put a disk in and there was already one in now it wont eject

The disc tray does not eject when the OPEN/CLOSE button is pressed. Solution
sp.gif sp.gif Follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue.
IMPORTANT: The disc tray will not open while a disc is loading; this is normal operation. If this is the case, wait until the disc is finished loading before pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button to open the disc tray.
  1. Make sure the disc tray is not locked; if necessary,
  2. Perform a power reset.
    1. Press and hold the POWER button for 10 seconds until the BD player turns off.
    2. After the BD player turns off, press the POWER button again to turn it back on.
  3. Attempt to open the disc tray by pressing the OPEN/CLOSE button on the front of the BD player.
  4. If the disc tray still does not open and a disc is stuck inside, follow the steps below to force the disc tray to eject:
    1. Turn off the BD player.
    2. Turn the BD player back on.
    3. Immediately after POWER ON is displayed, press the STOP button on the front of the player. IMPORTANT: Only use the STOP button on the front of the BD player. The remote control cannot be used for this operation.
      NOTES:
      • The disc tray should eject and the BD player will turn off. If it does not eject, repeat steps A-C.
      • It may be necessary to press the STOP button in step C two or three times.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required

The display says, "insert disc",

Thank you for posting to Fixya.com and it is my pleasure to guide you.

1. The disc may be turned over. Insert the disc with the playback side facing down.

2. The disc may be dirty. Wipe it with the correct type rag.

Since you stated the display is showing then I take it the player is on and the chord is plugged in.

3. Is the disc completely centered in the tray? I have done that before.

4. Have you run the self-diagnosis function? If the Error code 'AACS ERR' shows then it is an "AACS read failure". Remove the protected disc. Then turn the unit off and wait a minute or two and back on.

Good luck and please post back that you are successful and give thumbs up if my solution has worked for you. If I can be more helpful just reply.
