yes there is a seal on the cam shaft behind the water pump pully
undo that bolt
you have to undo the cam shaft to get to it .dont drop the lifters
19 nm for the can bearing bolts ..do not overtighten the two rocker cover bolts you can crack the rocker cover or split the cam bearing those bolts tight into
many say not to use silicon but because of the age of the car you need to use the blue silicone on the half moon the rocker gasket and the cam seal ..there are no online repair manuals for the tm-tp magnas ..the rocker covers can warp but rare
Rocker arm issues are common in that car. They can happen without any reason. This is not going to be cheap to look at. When the head was repaired it had to be removed. The timing chain might not have been properly tensioned. That would cause the timing chain to slip and then you have pistons slapping valves and spark plugs. This cause rocker arms and pushrods to bend or break and also can damage pistons.
It sounds like the Rocker Assembly has cracked inside your switch. When they break it's usually in the "Off" position.
So this is how you take it apart:
Remove Hose Remove Bag
Now stand the vacuum up and peel back the bumper guards on the left and right side of the vacuum. Peel them back roughly 6 inches and pull straight up on the bumpers. This should release the side of the machine.
When doing the other side be careful in doing so because once you release that last bumper, your vacuum will be ready to disassemble.
When you remove the bumpers place your vacuum wheels up. Pull the cord out roughly 3 ft, just for slack. Now you should be able to release the bottom of your vacuum.
When you lift off the bottom of your vacuum (wheel side) the front cover and the bag compartment will come with it. Just be careful. There will be about 4 wires. Just unclip the wires from the bag compartment. That way you can place the front of the vacuum at the back of the machine to give you more room to work with.
When removing the bag compartment, there will be a clear hose that plugs into the lower corner of the compartment. That will just slide off, but be sure when you reassemble that you connect that clear hose back on your vacuum will show a full bag indicator.
Now once you have the front cover and bag compartment out you should see the underside of your switch. There will be 2 to 4 screws. Remove them and the cover will release your switch from the underside.
When your switch comes out you will have to push the retaining clip on the top of the switch to remove the cover. Once you do that you will see 2 slider switches with a broken rocker in between them. There will be a small spring attached to this rocker so pay attention on how it goes back on the rocker.
Go to your local Aerus Electrolux with your rocker and tell them you want a replacement rocker. It should be under $10.00 and once you do that, just reverse these steps.
As you're looking at the switch side, the short end of the spring clips over the right end of the rocker. The long end clips into the rectangular hole at the other end of the switch housing.. The rubber piece will point to the rear.
A circuit breaker is an automatically-operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by overload or short circuit. Unlike a fuse, which operates once and then has to be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset (either manually or automatically) to resume normal operation.
