BALLAST How do you check the ballast on a LG 52SX4D?? I have a feeling that it is quite easy; however, I would like some insight before I start taking it apart. thank you

Tv goes off and on.It have alots of clicking noise sounds too?Yes.The board that call the Ballast board it is also dead too.The Ballast board only job it is to help to ignite the tv projection lamp.Tries websites like Partstore.com,Ebay.com to buy the Ballast board for the replacement.

Sounds like the same problem I had when I picked up my LG 52SZ8R. After replacing the lamp the TV ran fine.

Easiest way to see if the lamp is the problem is to take it out, and look at the peice of wire in the globe as you would an old light globe.

They should be able to give you a quote and part number, if you don't like their quote you can always use the part number to search for one thats cheaper.

I have had the same model HDTV and had the same issue. It was the power supply and I got it replaced at a TV repair shop for 300.00.

Need to bring it to services to check to find out the reason. The nearest service. Hope it can satisfy you.

well i know what the problem is... if your getting the white scroll and then the red light flashes but the fans are comming on and you got a new bulb the broblem is the ballast. i know cuz i had the same problem and a good friend of mine has a tv shop and i had him look at it but the good news is that its not that hard to change. if you try to go through LG thay wont be able to sell you the ballast if your just a coust. good news is that you can fined the ballast on ebay from easywaylamps its about $130.00 bucks shiped. bud news about is that thay are from china(it is where i got mine) but it works great and hasent gave me a broblem yet. if any one eles has the same problem and it was something eles.... If the red light scrolls through, you need to replace the bulb. I replaced the my own bulb, and when I tried to turn on the tv the light kept scrolling. What was wrong? I DIDNT FULLY REASSEMBLE THE TV AFTER REPLACING THE BULB.

Make sure that all the screws are put back in and it will probably work if you have replaced the bulb.

Your set uses the Phillips UPH100W 1.3 100http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/ 1amp bulb part number 6912V00006A which uses Ballast EUC 6913V0002A and the actual ballast isMB03CA part number 6871VSMB13F I would contact LG and give them these numbers. Is your ballast bad or is the BallastEUC bad? Let me know if I can help you further.

no if the lampo stops working again that means the tv is finished for life because it will jeep happening after the dat. i spent money on repairs that in the end was a waste. this prob. is so common among theses rear hdtvs.

Yup, same problem here.

The Lamp Ballast p/n 6316000009B could be bad if you already swapped out the lamp with a known good one as you can't tell by looking at them if they're bad. It may be worthwhile to have a technican look at this set as it would be an expensive mistake if the ballast is not bad.
