K850i Opening phone

The K850i is a pretty solid phone because it doesn’t have a rear battery cover. Instead the bottom of the phone pops open (henge type opener) similar to what you find on a digital camera.

It would best if you return the phone from where you bought it since your are having multiple issues with a brand new phone, sounds unlikely so ask for a replacement.

if your button lights flash when u try to open your phone then there is still hope, u have to update your phone with usb- cable from computer.Read instructions and download software from www.sonyericsson.com

guest - that is a mainboard issue but first take the phone and have the lcd replaced if that does not work then the phone's mainboard needs to tested and reflash to correct it.

take the phone and have the housing replaced or fix on the phone to open the cam cover on the phone.
