The suddenlink box transmits on channel 3 and is the only signal being transmitted. When the TV looks for all channels it will only see the one coming into it. This is normal because it is assumed you are controlling channels with the sudden link box, not the TV. If you are using an antennae then you need to go into the TV's setup menu and change the settings from cable to antennae.
Hi - My name is Tina and I am with Suddenlink. Are you receiving your channels over the air (without a cable box)? If so, that is the way they are broadcast over the air in digital/high definition from the broadcasters and without converting them (with a cable box) there isn't anything that can be done to fix this issue. If you add a cable box to your set, then the box can convert the channels without the dashes. Plase feel free to contact me directly at tina-AT-suddenlink-DOT-com for further assistance. Thank you.

Hi - My name is Tina and I am with Suddenlink. Has your area recently went through the digital switchover? If so, you will need to get a digitalink box to view the channels. Please email me at tina-AT-suddenlink-DOT-com for further assistance. Thank you.
Hi - My name is Tina and I am with Suddenlink. I am very sorry for the issues you are having with the remotes for your new DigitaLink boxes. If you would email me at tina-AT-suddenlink-DOT-com, I would be happy to help resolve this issue. Thanks!
Do you recieve any channels if you run the cable directly from the wall to the TV and do a channel search? You may have to switch your TV over to a different input source if you are using a box. Please email me at tina-AT-suddenlink-DOT-com for more information. Thanks!
If you have the Suddenlink remote and the DVR box you can turn captions on or off by accessing a technical menu. To do this, press POWER and Menu buttons together (menu 2 times) to bring up a special menu. Select Closed Captions. On the popup menu select closed captions and using Select button change to OFF or ON as you wish. The trick is to get the menu to come up. Timing of pressing the two buttons is frustrating and it may take a few times befotre you get the special menu.
