I have an ASUS M2N MX SE motherboard.
Two of the on baord USB ports are malfunctioning. Initially I was getting error messages that said " a USB device has malfunctioned and cannot be recognized" even when no device was plugged into the ports. Currently when a device is plugged into these two ports they are not recognized. The other ports on the board are OK.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the usbs but it did not help, i even formatted and reinstallled the OS but to no avail, problem persist.
I suspect the problem began after I tried to use a USB printer that I later realized was faulty.
Please help.
Right click the mouse on My computer located on desktop- select Manage- select device manager- find universal serial bus controllers - click on universal serial bus controllers - u find some devices there - right click the mouse on each and select uninstall - after uninstalling restarting the computer.
note : ensure usb controllers are enabled in BIOS setup
