Irregular constant clicking noise when engine running

Unable to find source of tapping/clicking sound which is irregular whilst engine running at different speeds. Appears to be coming from right hand front lower wheel arch area. Gets more pronounced before stopping as if operating like a workshop compressor having reached operating/safety pressure. The whole cycle will then repeat itself some minutes later. The car has never done this before and is a new event.

sounds like c/v axles (front drive shafts) they will make a clicking sound normally when turning sharp and accell at the same time at slow speeds / look at the axle boots and look for grease on the inside of the front wheels leaking out the axle boots

SOURCE: noise in right front wheel or dsah board

The solution is the upper strut mounting plate. To fix it you need to take out the strut tower and take apart the strut. The faulty part is the plate that has the 3 studs that actually mount the top of the strut to the frame. You may want to also plan on replacing the strut as well, when i took mine apart, the strut piston wouldnt go back into the strut body, that means its shot. Also if one side needs this done the other probably does too. The upper strut mount is about 20 bucks only from a dealer and the strut is about 60 from any auto parts store. hope this helps

2004 Ram 1500 55k squeak noise In eng

There is nothing in the engine that remains at a constant speed as revs increase. My bet is the climate control system, circulation fan or a blend door actuator. They would be the other side of the firewall whilst you are in the engine bay and the sound is behind the engine.

The other thing you can try is a piece of plastic pipe in your ear and use the other end as a stethoscope.

Engine got a knocking cold start, silint when hot

It has developed a clicking engine noise on a cold start. After the car has warmed up, the sound goes away. ... Clicking or a sharp tapping from the valve cover on top of the engine would point to a valve train noise. A dull tapping or slapping sound from the side of the engine block would point more toward piston slap.4 Nov 2011

How do i fix a clicking sound that only happens when i drive

Where is the sound actually coming from?

A clicking sound on a front wheel drive car may be caused by a worn constant velocity joint in one of the drive shafts. This being the case, replacement of that particular driveshaft is the only cure. The link below will show you what a drive shaft looks like:

driveshaft constant velocity joint Google Search

A clicking or tapping noise from the engine usually indicates valve/camshaft or tappet problems.

However, as you say that the noise only occurs when you drive it's difficult to see how it can be caused by anything in the engine. Your best option is to take your car to a workshop or car spares shop and ask them their opinion. Get a correct diagnosis first.

Logik LED TV making a constant tapping/clicking sound.

try turning off AND unplug for a couple minutes! USB may have pulled power down to start the switching noise. Try usb again and if it does it again then I wouldn't use that usb anymore.

Tappets are constantly loud when driving 1993 BMW 318i

How is the oil level in the engine? Have you actually checked that? Also, what kind of oil (and what weight) are you running in the engine, and how many miles are on the car? You may be running oil that is too thin for the amount of wear on the engine parts! oil leaks cause low oil levels!

Tapping sounds come from engine.

I assuming this Yamaha is a off road or road trail as the road Yamaha's are pretty good regarding engine noise - any how the off roaders are renowned for engine tap if is just quiet tapping that is regular with speed of engine and not on and off again worse at high or low speeds then would not be to concerned.
if it is irregular and loud and worse at high or low speed stop riding and get checked for sure!

2004 gmc envoy engine tapping sound, it has plenty of water/antifreeze, and plenty of oil.

We have the same tapping sound on our 2003 Envoy six cylinder engine. I believe the sound is coming from the radiator fan clutch assembly. When the engine reaches its operating temperature and the fan clutch engages, the tapping sound goes away.

Vibrating noise coming from either the engine or underneath

When the constant velocity joints are worn out. this is what u ussually get.

car vibrates if one or both are worn out. and vibration will increase as speed increases.

car will make a popping or tapping or clicking sound when steering.

Or they might just need lubrication too.
CONSTANT VELOCITY JOINTS ARE LOCATED JUST UNDER THE SHOCKS.....IT LOOKS LIKE A WORM LIKE PLASTIC COVERING A SHAFT.

hope this helps XD

Tapping sound in The engine Head

Sounds like lifter noise. The best solution for lifter noise is, change the oil use a good quality oil , i would recommend a synthetic oil or at least a couple of quarts. Then get a bottle of MARVEL MYSTERY OIL this stuff works good add that to you oil when you change it and that should clear up any lifter noise. Another thing that might help use a higher grade gas a couple of times.
