Possible that the fall has damaged the mother board and so there can be CRACK ON THE MOTHER BOARD. So you need to remove power cord and check using a good inspection lamp on the board for broken circuit board. Use a good soldering iron with wire strips to join - take care not to short circuits as each line must be tested for short and continuity.
Take the aparts.Check all PCB boards.Might have PCB boards broken.Might even have LCD screen pannel broken, not worth repairing if LCD screen picture pannel is broken.
I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my
comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3
universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack
universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your
xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad
if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai
was 11676. Take care...

This is an indication that one of the components in the screen control sections has a thermal instability problem. This canusually be found using a product called cool mist which is a component cooling spray. This lowers the compenent temperature and allows you to see which component has the problem. Also you may want to if you are able try to use a voltmenter and a schematic to trace the problem down once you know which component is giving you the problem.
I have a LCT2785TA LCD TV AKAI model and the ribbon was punctured do you know where I could find a replacement part? I just need one.
