Because in Main Oven Cavity (large) around the convection fan is very powerful ring heating element 2500W (not visible) who works in the Fan mode. Therefore, it is not necessary that all heaters work because it will overheat the oven.
This really works well to break down grease. Get a large pot that is ALL Metal! No plastic handles etc. Fill the pot with water and add vinegar. (Two parts water to one part vinegar) Turn the oven as high as it will go and allow the water/vinegar to steam. Keep an eye on the pot as not to boil out all of the water. Repeat as necessary. Hope this helps.
I am having the exact same problem. There was a large POP and now it makes a weird noise and doesn't heat. Everything else appears to work though. I think it may be the HV Capacitor. Before I tear this thing off the wall and check the Capacitor does this sound like it may be the problem?
