My machine is making a buzzing sound and this morning it took three attemps to boot. Usually it boots in seconds so am very concerned!

Boot up the laptop and enter into your BIOS. You can do this by pressing F2 at startup. From there select the boot tab and rearrange the boot menu order placing the disc drive to be the first to boot from. Then save changes and exit. You can also select boot from external media (USB boot) and place it in the order you desire such as after CD but before hard drive. Then insert your recovery CD and upon boot it should prompt you to press any key to boot from CD.

Try hitting the F8 key and reboot in safe mode.

Once you turn on the computer keep on tapping the F8 key and this will give you an option to boot to safe mode.
