3com 7760 not connecting to router via Ethernet

After initial power-up the access point had power led on,11.b.g led and 100 led flashing for awhile then stopped, since then the 11.b/g led and 100 led have not come on and i can't connect to the AP web interface because the unit doesn't connect to the router and it doesn't get IP address.i did reset it many times for 5 seconds for 30 seconds no change how can I link to the device to get it set up for use with my router(which is wireless ) because I want to provide wireless access to my internet in a remote location where my router's wireless doesn't reach.

hi ,,, i got yor problem. as ya said its not allowing ya to log nto it with security enabled. Ya can try to log into it with the ethernet cable as their wil be an ethernet LAN port onthe access point. I f ya know the default or the present ip of AP then ya can assign a static ip of the same range to yor computer like eg. ap is 192.168 .1.1 then your comp can have 192.168.1.10 and ya can log into it thru the ethernet cable and disable the security. i hope ya know how to assign a staic ip add to yor compuetr. or check the screen shots on brivers.com n select the "network connections" screen shots to assign a static ip address to yor' comp. feel free to chat with me on samrat101 thru yahoo or msn messenger or drop a mail on [email protected] for ny wless n ipphone issues -- take care ,, samrat

Hi there

I think up to now you've been using someone else's Internet service, by picking up the signal wirelessly. You need your own Internet Service. You now connect your access point in the way the Internet Service Provider guide you. It is a different set up with cable (they provide a modem) or with BT (connection through your phone line).

I want to know how I can re-set my 3Com 3crwe955275 wireless access point to its default factory settings. Can anyone help?

1 Remove power from the Gateway. 2 Disconnect all your computers and the cable/DSL modem from the Gateway router. 3 Using a straight through Ethernet cable, connect the Ethernet Cable/DSL port on the rear of the Gateway to any one of the LAN ports. 4 Re-apply power to the Gateway. The Alert LED will flash as the Gateway starts up, and after approximately 30 seconds will start to flash more slowly (typically 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off). Once the Alert LED has started to flash slowly, remove power from the Gateway. 5 Remove the cable connecting the Cable/DSL port to the LAN port, and reconnect one of your computers to one of the Gateway LAN ports. 6 Re-apply power to the Gateway, and when the start-up sequence has completed, browse to: http://192.168.1.1 and run the configuration wizard. You may need to restart your computer before you attempt this. 7 When the configuration wizard has completed, you may reconnect your network as it was before

Connecting a wireless router to Tiscalli broadband connection

  1. USB modem is connecting a PC USB port with a DSL phone line: CANNOT be connected to a ROUTER LAN (ethernet NOT USB port).
  2. Wireless ROUTER is NOT a modem and it CANNOT connect the Internet (or WAN) LAN port to any "phone line"
  3. Connect the Router Internet (WAN) port to Modem (you need a LAN MODEM = a modem with a LAN/ETHERNET port)
  4. Be sure your internet is running before strting ROUTER configuration with Router Company CD

3com 3300 TM - all Ethernet port not working, power led flashing

A blinking power LED means that the switch is either downloading software, or is initializing which also includes running the Power On Self Test. You may have firmware issues with the switch and/or the switch is stuck in initialization mode. You may have to contact 3com regarding a warranty issue. Hope this helps. Good luck.
