download the free app ringdroid in the app market.connect g1 to computer and mount .drag music into music folder.then open rigdroid.the music you dragged into folder should be here.cut the waveform however you want then save. now you can go to settings and under sound and display you can assign your newly made ring tone to your default tone.

Like most (if not all) phones. when setting a ringtone you can only select the song you want ! the only way to have a certain part of a song as your ringtone would be to use Audio editing software on a PC and then crop the song how you want. enabling you to have a ringtone of a certain part of the song.

dont go to music list just go in profile , silect any profile in profile go to persnalise(setting) silect ring tone or alart tone and silect that music what u want to set as ringtine
