Precor Error 44, Un-commanded Lift Motion Probable Cause 1. Intermittent or bad connection in the lift position sensor(potentiometer).
2. Lift position sensor (potentiometer) is bad.
3. Lower PCA is bad.
Corrective Action

  1. Bad or intermittent connection of the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is the most common cause of the error 44. Inspect all wiring and connections related to the lift position sensor (potentiometer). Repair or replace wiring connections as necessary.
  2. Monitor the lift position number displayed while operating the lift in diagnostics mode. If the reading makes large changes or is erratic, the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is likely bad. Replace the lift position sensor (potentiometer) or lift motor if the lift position sensor (potentiometer) is internal to the lift motor.
  3. If the lift moves without any command entered either manually or through a program, replace the lower PCA.

SOURCE: I have a Precor c956i

Removethe red "STOP" cover. The cover may pushes against a switch. If theswitch moves too far down and rests against the cover, it will be stuck in alock position causing the error message. To remove the red STOP cover, removethe few screws behind the console. When the front cover is off, turn it overand unscrew the two screws that hold the red stop cover. Then push the coverout through the FRONT. Do not attempt to lift it out by the end with the screwholes. It will not pull out that way. Test the machine before screwing thepanels back again. The message should no longer show STOP KEY. Test the visiblewhite small switch that you uncovered by removing the red flap. The messageshould stop when you press the switch. If theproblem still exists then open the console and check under the magnet holderfrom inside you may see rust ire broken cable there, if you find thisthen you may have to replace it. Hopethis will help you.AV

I have a precor c956i and got error 27 on it, what can i do to resolve probmem? thank you

Precor Error 27, Too Much Drive Motor Current Probable Cause 1. The running belt and/or deck are badly worn.
2. Drive motor is shorted or de-magnetized causing a high power demand.
Corrective Action
  1. Check the amp draw using a clamp on AC volt-amp meter during loaded and no load conditions and compare values to a similar treadmill that is known to have a good running belt and deck. Replace the belt and/or deck if necessary. Don't forget, some units have a double sided deck which means it may be flipped over rather than replaced if it has an unused side.
  2. Test unit with a known good drive motor. Replace drive motor if necessary.

What is the problem on a C956i when error code 15 comes up? Can this be fixed by the user or does it require a professional?

Precor Error 15, AC Input Voltage Too High Probable Cause 1. AC input voltage is incorrect.
2. AC input voltage transients. Transients can be caused by lightning strikes or by other pieces of equipment sharing the unit's AC power.
Corrective Action
  1. Verify AC feed into the building's circuit breaker is correct and connected to the proper transformer tap.
  2. Ensure the AC grounding for the unit's outlet is good and verify the unit is connected to an isolated and dedicated 20 amp circuit.

Stuck key problem

Precor Error 05, Key Depressed at Power Up
Probable Cause 1. A key is permanently depressed on the display.
2. An interface chip (IC) has failed in the upper PCA's keypad.
3. Liquid (cleaning solution or sweat) may be on the surface of a touch sensitive display.

Corrective Action
  1. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the keypad is the cause and should be replaced.
  2. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 still appears, the upper PCA* is the cause and should be replaced. *Upper PCA's most commonly do not come with software. Remove the software (chip) from the existing upper PCA prior to replacement and install into the new upper PCA.
  3. Wipe away all liquid from the touch sensitive display. Reset power to the unit. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the liquid was the cause.
