SOURCE: polaroid lcd hdtv 27" buzzzz

thre are several components that can make a buzzing sound, especially a bad power component or capacitor. check the capacitors to make sure they are installed in the board correctly. the stripe on the cap must line up with the white mark on the board under it. remove the back panel lay the tv down on a blanket turn it on and see if you can isolate the noise component by ear up close. and visually check for swollen capacitors the top will be pushed up round if bad if good it will be flat on top. warning if tv is less than a year old make the place you bought it replace it. so you dont void the warranty.

SOURCE: Vizio GV42l buzzing

Vizio makes an ok LCD, but if you notice they no longer make plasma. they stopped last year. Anyways. the buzzing sound is semi serious, it sounds as though you have a capacitor leaking. It is best to get it fixed before it goes out all the way, with it buzzing it will be easier to identify. Best of luck

NS-LDVD32Q-10A buzzing noise

Try another input and another source such as a DVD player. If you still get the buzzing sound, you could have a faulty power supply output or a fault in the audio circuit of the main board.

Tv has a buzzing nouse

In almost all cases this is caused by a small transformer which is vibrating hard enough to cause the buzz.

The louder it is the easier to locate it.

Repair techniques vary from locating and dampening the sound with Hot Glue Gun to just replacing the entire board that it is on.

It is irritating but poses usually no safety issue.

Hint: usually in newer sets it comes from the power supply board.

Hi, I Purchased an LG 50PK350 plasma tv and I am experiencing an extremely loud, annoying buzzing sound even with the amp switched off & the sound muted. The buzzing is not constant ... the brighter...

I have this tv aswell, and yes I will confirm that it does buzz quite alot, but all plasma tvs do, it is to do with how it renders images, the buzzing can be made worse by it being close to a wall and it reflecting back. I found that my tv stand some how amplified the buzzing when i got mine. I dont think its something you can escape.

Mine i notice also when scrolling around menus seems to have lines that follow your selection....not to pleased about that

Humming sound

Samsung states - A buzzing sound from your plasma TV is normal. It is caused by the electrical charges used to create the images on the screen. The buzzing, however, should not be so loud that you can hear it when the volume on the TV is set at normal levels. It is also important to determine the type of buzzing sound. A sound like a ground hum is completely normal. This buzzing can originate near the power cord connection or from the SMPS board position on the upper back of the TV. The buzz will be more audible as contrast increases on the screen, most notably when displaying an all white screen. If the buzzing sound is loud, you may have the Contrast set too high. Lower the contrast to reduce or eliminate the buzzing. You may also have loud buzzing if the rear of your Plasma TV is too close to a wall or other hard surface. Try moving your TV away from the wall until the buzzing is minimized. [1]
If the buzzing is at a higher frequency and resembles a crackling sound (like the sound of Velcro being pulled apart), and originates from the upper middle back of the TV, you likely have a failing SMPS board. Place a support call with Samsung to have the SMPS board replaced.FP-T5084 Have a known buzzing problem with a very simple fix.If the buzzing is coming from the left or right sides of the rear and the volume can be changed by pressing lightly on those locations, you are probably hearing the vibration of the grounding springs on the back panel. Call Samsung (or whoever) and have a technician confirm the problem. The easiest fix is to insulate the offending spring by applying some felt tape.

Buzzing and green line

A buzz in the sound usually indicates poor grounding somewhere or bad filter caps in the power supply. Lines moving up the screen used to be common in old tube sets, also indicates bad power. Have you opened up the back for a look?
