Our 1996 Odyssey flooded out and wouldn't start after backing out of garage on a 40 degree day, turning it off to wash it, then pulling it back in the garage 20 minutes later. Engine was not wet. Garage restarted it by holding foot to floor on gas pedal and cranking 5-10 seconds. Apparently this stops the fuel flow.
Car running fine now. Never happened before. Is there a problem?
Car has 160,000 miles on it. Well maintained. Runs well and gets good mileage 20 city to 27-30 highway.
I was driving my 2000 Honda Odyssey til I came to a curve hitting the back right tire only then my vehicle suddenly shut off. Dont know why but I tried starting it back up it turned on for 3 seconds then shuts off with or without pumping the gas pedal what can be wrong
Local mechanic determined engine was flooded and started it by holding throttle to the floor and cranking 5-7 seconds - then the engine sputtered to life. It has run perfectly before and since and I'm at a bit of loss to understand why this occurred this one time - so far. It's been driven now 5 days with no problems.
