I would guess the blue is POSITIVE, and goes to the tip of the lighter plug. However, get a voltmeter and check...

SOURCE: Can't get power to my RoadPro 1500 DC to AC Power Inverter

I have had this same problem with several power inverters over time. The problem is usually one of three things.

Those starting with the simplest.

1. Too much current being drawn on the inverter.
Solution (Check appliances that are plugged in and make sure they are not drawing more than 1200 watts. If they are unplug the appliance that is using the most current and get an inverter that is more suited to your power needs.)

2. Some power inverters have fuses built on to them. Sometimes multiple fuses. Sometimes, one fuse may burn out leaving one intact. When this happens even small items draw too much current and over load the inverter.
Solution (Replace the fuses)

3. Improper installation. Inverters draw a lot of current. You must use the propper wire size for the inverter. I would recomend at least an eight guage wire directly fused and hooked directly to the battery. Of course like with all things the bigger the wire the better the flow of electricity.

If it is not one of those things stop into a truck stop electronics shop and have the person diagnose it.

Hope that helps.

SOURCE: have several non working inverters

I have had this happen a few times.

Sadly replacement is the Best option.
Repairs can be %75 the cost of a new one.

The best invert we have been using is a Pure Sine 1500 watt inverter.

Sad news but hope this tip helps.

SOURCE: green and red light are blinking on roadpro 300 power inverter

if the inverter is working and the fan is just starting and stopping the fan must be bad, but if it is not supplying power the inverter control is bad

SOURCE: my inverter is Roadpro 1500 but cannot power 700W microwave

How good is the connection to the battery? there are a lot of amps that have to flow fast and clamps just don't do it, lugged cables do!

Hi, got a Simpson esprit 750 washing machine. Pulled power cord out from main board when moving it. Can you tell me where the brown and the light blue wire reconnect please. Earth is easy.

They go on to the timer. On the end of the timer is a row of terminals with other blue wires on them. They are all the neutrals, put the blue wire on one of those end terminals (any one that is empty)
There is a terminal in the centre of the timer marked A. That is where the brown live wire goes.

I just bought a RoadPro 2500 and i want to buy like a dorm fridge how many watts or volts size would work??

If you are referring to the RoadPro RPPI-250
  • 2000 Watts Continuous Power
  • 2500 Watts Power Output @ 10 Minutes
  • 5000 Watts Peak Power Output.
  • A small fridge will use about 500 -700 watts, with startup wattage at around 2000watts.
  • So, a dorm fridge will work fine.
  • the RoadPro converts DC to AC voltage, so a regular 120 volt dorm fridge will work.
