Remote just quit working for litex ceiling fan. changed batteries still doesn't work
After changing the batteries make sure you didn't change the remote code. If you didn't there should be a reset button inside the battery compartment, it may just look like a small hole. Just use a toothpick and insert it into the hole and lightly depress the reset switch.Replace the battery cover and try using the remote again.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your answer. I thought the receiver might be the problem, it is 12 years old. I just ordered a new one from Farrey's (farreys.com)."

I'm assuming your fan is connected to a switch on the wall,if it doesn't turn the fan or light on,as your remote doesn't,then your electrical wires have come loose causing you not to have power to fan,you will have to remove the parts to get to your wing nuts holding your wires together to make a good connection and put electrical tape over wing nuts and wire to keep together, vibration will cause them to come loose, make sure you turn power off at breaker.

with Hampton Fans,, normally if the remote is good with a known good battery , and it quits working,, its the remote receiver, not the actual remote that goes bad. you can contact these guys I heard they have the part you need http://www.ceiling-fans-n-more.com/hampton-bay-ceiling-fan-parts.php
I had this exact problem. I bought two Home Decorator fans from Home Depot and installed them in separate rooms in my house. They have LED lights. I know for a fact that I wired them right because the model fan in Home Depot fan was wired the same and my remote worked perfectly with that fan. Both fans at my house had the same issue of the light not turning all the way off but dimming worked and fan speeds worked. LONG story short, I had another fan in the Master Bedroom that was turned on. When I turned the power to that fan off (wall switch toggled to off), both of the new fans worked!!! Now I need to figure out how to wire the Master bedroom fan correctly (9 wires in one box) but at least I know what the issue was!
