Unit just shut off - standby/power light starting blinking rapidly.
Unplugged unit to see if it would reset - to no avail. Standy/power light still blinking rapidly.
Any ideas?
Marantz SR 6001Power and StandBy Light came on and is blinking Rapidly. There is a review at CNET that slams this receiver. Do not Buy. Actually looks to be discontinued. Marantz is requesting we send in for repair and we will be lucky to get it back in 6 - 8 weeks
For resetting sr6001: When power lights blinking, press "clear" + "pure direct" + "7.1 ch input" simultaneously for 3 seconds.

I have a SR7001 with that problem. I found 2 shorted amp NPN & PNP transistors. Part #'s SAP17NY & SAP17PY.

Can anyone tell me how to reset the protection circuit WITHOUT sending it in for repair? If so I will happily pay the $9.99. I Know my way around a circuit board and a VoltMeter. Is there a way to disable the protection circuit? The nearest repair facility is quite some distance and I do not want to go there
same exact problem. I have requested help from Marantz
I have the same problem that got triggered due to a short speaker cable. But I have already removed the shorted wire but not able to find a solution to reset the protection circuit..
If any one have a solution to reset the protection it would be great as in India, Delhi there is no direct support for Marantz even.
the same probl with sr7001
Same problem after electrical storms although was on a high dollar surge protector. No remedy with the suggested fixes. I think I am screwed!!
AM, Dallas
the protection circuit has kicked in because there is a dc overflow or there is a short
I would start looking on the power amp for the problem
you cannot disable the protection circuit , it is protecting the rest of the circuit , if you did bypass the protection circuit you will just burn somthing else out
look for a short in the power amp , that is the most likely cause of the protect circuit but other components need to be tested to make sure , like an electrolytic capacitor , bad resistor , thats where the problem is most likely going to come from
this is the protection circuit, it needs repair
I have found a standby mode reset code for another Marantz receiver and it worked fine for my Marantz SR4003. Just press Surround mode + Exit + Clear simultaneously and the receiver should perform a hard reset. You will lose (part of) your setup settings, but it should at least come out of its standby mode in this way.
