Yamaha RX-V2095 I just moved from one state to another and had a moving company pack and store my stereo equipment, along with all the other things. Once I hooked up all the components and turned on my Yamaha RX-V2090, it stayed on for about 4 seconds then automatically shut down. After several more attempts, I noticed that before it shut down the LED display started flickering and fading before going off. I read the troubleshooting section of the owners manual and they said it could be that I had the impedance selector switch incorrectly set on the back panel. I never changed the switch before, but I checked to see if it may not have been all the way in the down position. I retried turning the unit on and it shut down, again, after a few seconds. The manual also stated that my speaker connections may not be secured or the wires may be touching something. I decided to remove the speaker wires totally from the unit, tried again, and the same thing happened. Is there an internal fuse that may be the cause of this problem or possibly something more serious

Hey there! Nice receiver :0)
Sorry about your troubles. I've been where you are with an Rx-V2600. Would turn on and after a few seconds click off. I thought maybe it was bad wiring but even completely disconnected it would still do it.
I took it to a shop and I was told it was a bad channel. Luckily I mentioned I had a Denon receiver that had stopped working and he said he would take that as payment.
He fixed the Yamaha and it's been working for years.
If you search the internet you should find a local authorized Yamaha repair center. I would take it there. They marked charge like a $30-$50 fee to look at it but usually they apply that towards the repair.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V595A tuns off automatically

This was happening to mine also, all of a sudden. This solution came from the owners manual. Sure enough, the impedance selector was stuck in the middle , between 4 and 8 ohms....I also, made sure the speaker wires were not touching each other at the splice. Problem fixed.

The unit fails to turn on when
STANDBY/ON is pressed, or set in
the standby mode suddenly soon
after the power has been turned on.
The power cord is not plugged in or the
plug is not completely inserted.
The IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch
on the rear panel is not fully set to the
upper or lower end.
Firmly plug in the power cord.
Set the switch fully to the upper or
lower end when the unit is in the
standby mode.

SOURCE: Yamaha RX-V595a receiver shuts off 2 seconds after its powered on

The first thing called out is the impedance switch on the back is not fully in one or the other position. Cycle the switch back and forth to make sure it will 'read' each setting, then turn it on.

Also make sure you if you have anything connected to its convenience outlets that they are not drawing more current than is allowed.

Rx v2095 has problems with headphones.

All speaker / headphone combos should have a stereo switched headphone socket.
It could be that the spring-steel switch contacts in the socket are not opening for some reason - jammed by nearby stray wiring etc, or a possible short on the board, say between the solder pads at the headphone socket.
When phones are out, switch contact(s) are closed, completing circuit from amp to speakers or bigger power amp section to drive your wall-shakers.
When headphones are in, the speakers are disconnected and the audio is fed via the contacts to the phone jack-plug's tip and ring, instead.
Short story - Isolate power, remove shell, inspect and test.

My RX-V2095 Yamaha receiver won't power up.

Wont power up, or stuck in "protect mode"? Unplug the unit & let it sit for a couple hours, then plug back in & listen for a "click" a turn (power supply relay energizing.) If no lights & no click, the first place to check is the mains fuse. If the unit is under warranty - take to an authorized facility & they will take care of it for you.

Try setting the "Auto Power Down" in the "Setup" menu to "off". Double check the selection of the speaker impedance on the back of the unit to make sure it matches your speakers.

Lose pre-sets if power failure or unit unplugged

Hello,
The only way to aviod this is to connect it to a batter back up, that way if you do lose power, the battery will maintain the receiver for a little while at least. Unfortunately, it is kind of an expensive solution.

Rx v2095 receiver - No sound from either front main speaker

I have had similar problems on a Denon. I suspect your DSP needs repaired and/or replaced. Need to contact authorized Yamaha repair shop or a competent local repair facility. I have a Yamaha RX-V2092 which is similarly designed. I have had it for 10 years. Hope this helps.
