Use a non contact voltage detector pen and follow the wires from bottom up to bowl heater , somewhere along the way the power will stop , thats the device that needs some looking at

if the switches were turned on for heat and stir functions when wrong power was applied then im sure those functions were damaged as well it's just not apperant right now , are you sure it's a transformer you saw burned ? im not in the knowlege of this unit needing a transformer , could it possibly be a power conditioner thats burned , transformers have iron plates lamanated in many layers that are very noticable from the outside , power conditioners do not have layers or plates but are smooth and covered in metal ??
using a non contact voltage detector pen veryify that Kettle is recieveing power , if not ck two things 1st the switch for heat function ,use same pen as ist step , both sides of switch , In and out wire , second ,overtemp switch this is down by heater coils and maybe a little tricky to acess with power applied ,be carefull !! use same pen to follow power all the way to heater coils , if it gets there and still no heat then the coils are burned out , this happens if unit was heated up without any oil or corn inside
A short condition has severed a conductor wire inside the coffee maker. Seems to be a common problem with coffee makers as the wires are in close proximity to heating devices.
If it is less than one year old, and you have the receipt, go to the waring site, and look up the nearest dealer for repair and bring it to them. They should be able to contact waring for you and get you a replacement.
My replacement had a silver body virsus the original black body. The shop told me they have yet had a customer repeat of this problem.
