Xbox 360 slim offline lag

I got a new xbox 360 slim 250 GB, I play it on old TV and it lags Offline! First i thought it was normal, but a few days latter single player lag is so bad that almost every game is unplayable. I searched on internet and i discovered that a lot of people have the same problem. Is there a way i can fix it by my self? Sorry for my bad english.

I live in europe. It would be very expensive to send my xbox to microsoft. Isn't there solution to fix it by myself?

trust me i have been going through the same problem as of lately and done hours upon hours of research on this topic if you check all of those things i mentioned below and it does not help you idk what to tell you (also try turning on your game mode in your tv options menu or turning off all other settings that may cause lag such as resizing picture and such)

Its called input lag which is caused by your tv look up response times reviews for that particular model of tv and MS speeds for that tv if that is not the issue the xbox could be faulty or your hdmi cord could be bad

Hi dinobots,

Do you use Wi-Fi or an ethernet cable? If you are experiencing severe lag, it could be a problem with your actual internet connection and not necessarily your XBox 360.

I would purchase an ethernet cable (they run about $10 over here in the states) and try that out before anything else

It's Offline lag, not Online! there are games lagging offline, in cutscenes, explotions when a lot of stuff going on on screen. Games are unenjoyable. and this lag is almost in every game.

  • Anonymous Mar 19, 2012

    Hi dinobots,

I have never heard of offline lag but totally understand how that would be unenjoyable for you.

Are you still able to return the system to the store you purchased it from? That seems like the best solution for this issue, because I have never heard of offline lag that was this bad before.

    Hope that helps!

SOURCE: Xbox 360 - Oblivion IV - loading probs

Next time the game is loading, try clearing out the cache. You can do this by holding down the A button while the game loads. When you see the Oblivion title screen come up, your cache should be cleared. This may clear up your issue. If that doesn't do it for you, you can try to clear the cache out another way. There are many websites that can assist you with that. When in google, search for: Clear XBOX 360 cache. Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: My son saved money and bought a Xbox 360 Arcade. He did not realize that he could not play his xbox games on his new system. Is there an upgrade to allow old xbox games to be played on on the xbox 360

There is a perfect way to play your old XBOX games in Xbox 360 games.
you are in luck that you bought ARCADE,if you ve core without harddisk yo cannot play,

so the solution is

you need the FLASH UPDATE as above.
you'll need the hard disc drive accessory plugged into your Xbox 360 to play old Xbox games
if its there we can simply play it.

need to follow these

sign in to Xbox Live. Where do you find the update?

To get the update, all you need is to have your 360 connectedonline and logged into Live. Insert an original Xbox game into the360's disc drive, close it, and the update should begin automatically.Being on Xbox Live is the most hassle-free way to make sure you canplay Xbox 1 games, as the system should automatically update each timesupport for new games come out.

If you are not online with Live. How do you get the update?

You have two options - either order an update disc from Xbox.com(which will be sent by mail and incur a small fee) or, if you haveaccess to an Internet connection and a CD burner, you can download theupdate yourself. To download the update yourself, visit this Xbox support page. The download itself is roughly 2.5MB. Simply unzip the downloaded file, burn it onto a blank CD or DVD (it must be the only file on the disc),and insert it into your 360. The process should begin automatically.

It crashes because of EA :) They have problem with their servers and I think they've been shut down servers for a while. That's why you can't play online. But when I play offline, I can't save the game in any point or otherwise it says "Save failed" for plenty of times. I don't know why :)

Xbox 360 games lag just on this t.v. Does not play games right.

Depending on your model, this is caused by visual post-processing which may introduce lag. Many LCD diplays have a "game mode" setting make sure this is on when playing your Xbox 360 through this LCD TV. Also, depending on your model of TV, there are motion enhancers (usually proprietary e.g. LG calls its TruMotion) which can also introduce lag; these should be turned off while playing. Another step that should be followed, is to turning off any set video setting in the Xbox's configuration (i.e. turning off any set video output such as 480p, 720p, 1080i, etc.) and setting it to "Optimal Resolution". This should allow for native video output instead of possibly upscaling which would in turn induce lag.
This should correct you lag issue for most common LCD TV's. Hope this was helpful. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com

Just got an xbox 360 slim 250GB but when I went to play halo 3, the game was lagging along with the xbox menu itself. I even connected a plug-in controller and I had the same result showing that it was not...

If you just bought it brand new, then return it for an exchange. Its not wise to keep an electronics appliance or game console that is having issues straight out of the box. Using your A\V (RCA) cables instead of an HDMI cable shouldn't be causing any lag, at least nothing that is significant enough to notice.

X-Box Controller lag on new T.V.

This may be because of HDMI, but I have seen this happen on other TVs that use coax cables. It may be your controller is getting old. If you can afford it, try replacing the controller or get the HDMI connector for the xbox 360.

Cannot watch movies in divx format when am offline...

The problem you are facing is due to a corrupt profile, do not delete your current profile, just create a new gamer tag profile on the same xbox 360 and download the media update from Xbox Live, you would be able to play DivX movies again offline.

Before you create the new gamer tag, delete the old instance of media update downloaded earlier to play DivX movies

I faced similar problem, it got resolved after creating a new gamer tag.

Offline game cinema sumtime lag like its going 2 freeze

The freeze ups normally happen before the red lights of doom and they are caused by the GPU and the CPU getting too hot and the soldering snaps off so they lose connection.

If you stop the heat build up you will be fine.

You can do this yourself using a good repair guide or you can send it in and they will fix it for you.

It is internal overheating.

Lag lag lag lag

Hi there,

Some ways to get rid of your lag is to change internet service providers. If you have a wireless adapter, you may also want to get a new router. If you also have an older router, you may need to change that even you don't use the wireless internet. And for the overheating 360, it should not get hot after that amount of time. Move away from your tv, put it on a flat hard surface.(Not Carpet!), and move it away from a wall that might be preventing it's ventilation.

Hope This Helps,
C13295 ;)
