PowerEdge Server won't boot after memory upgrade

After a 2gig memory upgrade, bios seems to be corrupted. The system does recognize the added memory. The boot sequence initially didn't show the hard drive as an option. IDE CDROM is shown as an option, however, system won't boot from IDE. The bios is A01. I know that this version is much older than it should be, however, I can't upgrade without a boot device. I removed the on-board battery and that didn't help either. Any suggestions?

If you really need the BIOS update. you need a working PC to download the BIOS and unzip it to a CD. install it, since the PC do see the CD, you may have do some maneuver to ge the BIOS installed.

put everything back as it was before, see if it boot up. if it does, you may have to replace the memories one at a time.

Poweredge 1950 won't start

this is common, if your place was cold its possible that something has died when turning on again, you could try and pull out ram in an order to see if one has failed, get the memtest download and make a boot disk to test the ram has not become faulty, test each stick alone, Hiren boot disk has all the good stuff for testing, its a free tecky tool for engineers.

I have Dell PowerEdge 2550 Server. I want to configure RAID, but I can't reach RAID MENU! I have DELL 2550 Server BOOT CD and Dell OpenMenage Server Assistant V7.2. All of them are running, but I...

RAID menu will either be CTRL-A (if you are using the onboard PERC 3/Di) or CTRL-M (if you are using an addin PERC 3/4). If you are not seeing either of these options, then you may not have it enabled in the BIOS. In the BIOS (F2), go to Integrated Devices and make sure that RAID is Enabled. In order to enable RAID, your server MUST have a RAID key, RAID memory DIMM (different from system memory), and a RAID battery.

Dell PowerEdege 1600SC not recognizing IO devices

Just go into the bios and insert the correct parameters. you shut it off before it could save the settings. Or hit fi on boot and it should take you into the bios and you cand sort it out in there. If you want an easy way, just do a system restore. Start,Programs, accesorys, system tools, system restore, just go back a day or two before you had that issue, and you should be good to go, good luck

PowerEdge 2600 does not boot up ?

you need to set the boot device order. Usually F12.
or you can go to bios with F2 or F10.

your cd-rom is wrong you need the Instalation and Server Management CD. I think it's possible to download this cd at their site.

good luck

Can not access bois

It hangs there probably becuase one or more of the drives are dead or are almost there. Check and see the lights on the drives are falshing funny or too long or are yellow. If you find one of them that are that way, pull it out and then reboot.

See if that helps.
