If you look under the dash to the left of the brake pedal... you should see your fuse panel... above the there should be a black or gray box w/ two sets of wires coming from it ... both sets of wires have inline fuses... try pulling out either of those fuses one at a time , ie. pull one fuse try to start the car if the alarm still goes off replace that fuse and try the other one... this should disable the alarm on your car.

SOURCE: is there an installable battery disconnect switch for jag s type

u can install a disconnect but when u disconnect the power it clears all settings in vehicle such as radio will have to enter code so anti-theft lock out doesnt occur or have to reset from loc to normal -memory seats -emissions reset which means that problems for inspection if vehicle doesnt cycle thru before one is done -have battery and alternator tested most auto stores do this for free -- if problem only happens during rain check connections around battery/alternator/and fuses for loose or connections that are getting wet

Changed the battery and it set off the alarm. it seams like it activated a kill switch of some kind. is there a way to reset it?

You probably had your alarm set when you took out the old one. Just unlock your doors with your key fob, then disconnect the battery again for a few minutes and let it reset with the alarm off.

Beeping jag wont stop 2001 styp

if the alarm is sounding the common prob. is the pos. battery supply missing from the fem,[ front electric module] located lh lower A post brown/red wire i think. it sets the security system off after you have locked the car, it thinks the battery has been disconnected. the most likely cause is a corroded open circuit wire around the front bumper/lh wheel arch liner area. the power comes from i think the engine bay fuse box, the other option could be a faulty door or trunk/hood latch

1997 jag 3.2 immobiliser won't deactivate when key in ignition

i'd take to a jag specialist as they will know the exact alarm jaguar used on your model as they use a lot of other make equipment and you do need to know jags to get the right part for the particular vehicle, you could try a jaguer forum as these places are full of info like that

2001 Hyundai Sonata V6 Alarm Constantly going off after reconnecting battery and car fails to start. Just replcaed crank sensor this morning and car ran and cranked as usual. Any ideas?

I don't think crank sensor has something to do with it unless the engine lights turns on and scanned were done and found the crank sensor code spits out... now you stated the alarm kept going off, question for you is the alarm a factory or aftermarket? if factory you are talking about maybe the anti theft triggered the " kill switch " to prevent from starting... what you can do is find the relay of the alarm module disconnected and try starting the car..

I lost the keyless remotes for a 1994 xj6. The battery died. Have charged the the battery. The Alarm activates as soon as the battery is connected. Turning the security switch in the off position and...

If the engine will start, and the car is drivable, find the alarm and disconnect it until such time as you can get to a repair shop. If disconnecting the alarm kills the engine, then use a jumper wire to bypass it. If the car won't start because of the security system, I'm afraid you will have to have it towed to a dealership or repair facility to disarm it.

We change out battery in 2005 Xtype jag after we install battery and car was running as we was program the radio all the light on dash starting blinking and the car died

Sounds like an issue with the car's immobiliser. In order to prevent theft by disconnecting the alarm system when the power is cut the immobiliser is programmed to interrupt the car restart when power resumed. You will need to reset the alarm code.

Engine failure mode message on display

Hi Keith

Probably those little Jag gremlins at it again ?

First thing to do is clear the computers memory, which normally does the trick.

Disconnect both battery terminals, switch on the ignition to start 6 times, this wipes the computer memory, and then reconnect the battery, the Positive + first......... then the Negative -----

Start the car and go from there.

Suspect you had a low battery previously, and this tripped the warning.

Get the battery checked, if it is the original, as it is now 8yrs old, and should be replaced.

Good Luck !

A FixYa rating would be appreciated Thank you !

John.
