Got to settings in the PS3 Crossbar and go to display settings. The first one should say video output settings, click on it. It should say your connection type is HDMI. Select component/D Terminal and hit change. The screen should go blank. During this time plug it in to your other t.v by the scart. It should say "Can you read this screen?" hit yes and there you go. To go back to HDMI do the same.

Look in the manual for which version of HDMI. If it's 1.2a, they had a problem with the boards and were repairing them. Contact Yamaha @ 1-800-292-2982 Hope this helps

make sure ur not using both the av cable and the hdmi on some models it causes conflict although they are on different inputs. also did you try using a blu ray player or another ps3 on that hdmi port using the same cables or different cables? if another equipment work/don't work u can at least start to narrow down your problem..

My PS3 wont display.

you could use the hdmi cable or the composite cable(like the old playstation one with the 3 leads but different colours, not red, white, yellow.)
both would be better for a plasma.
make sure your screen can utilise 1080 for hdmi.
if 720 or 480 use the composite cable.

HDMI Input only reads Digital TV and not PS3 or AV Receiver

Well, I won't take the credit of others. Many people have the same problem as you do.
In the search box on the top of this page, put in " PS3 HDMI ". The one that has the 10 solutions so far has the best answers for you.
Good Luck

DENON AVR 888

hi dennon guy

you need to connect all your components to your receiver then from the receiver to the tv via the monitor out at the back of your receiver.

you need to make sure they are all the same type of cables. ie if you are using hdmi then make sure the dvd is hdmi output to hdmi input of the receiver then the receiver is hdmi output to the input of the tv. This will give you the best setup.

of course if u use component cables then the same principles applies.

good luck
