I can remove the door, but the control panel is behind a metal covering that doesn't have screws and doesn't appear to have anything I can remove.

Hi ED, It sounds like a real problem here. If the springs are still in one piece, my best guess is to to remove the springs from the door. Then attach the springs to the dishwasher body first, then reattach the spring to the door. Not an easy job, good luck. If you have further problems check with www.repairclinic.com, as the repairguru there may be of more help.

Did you knock out the plug on the disposal before you hooked up the drain hose ?
SOURCE: getting to the control panel
The outer user interface / touchpad stays in place. it can be removed only after removing the electronic machine relay board. The relay board is accessed from the inside of the door. You need to separate the inner door panel from the outer door panel. After removing the screws from around the inside of the door, the inner panel should lift up and away from the outer panel. The plastic cover should just clip on. you may need to use a flat screwdriver to release one or more of the clips. After that you'll be able to see any screws or clips holding the relay board in place.

Same model. Mine acts like it thinks it is closed. It doesn't latch, and the cycle still runs when you open.

remove grey plastic screw covers from each side of the door and unscrew the exposed 2 inch screws. Open door fully. Looking from above there are 10 screw heads visable. Counting from the right hinge and going clockwise, remove two inch srews going into the wooden outer door at positions 2,4,7 and 9
You first of all need to
check the pump filter. This is
located at the bottom front right of washer. Look for a drop down flap or cover, once
located, unscrew filter anti-clockwise to remove and clean. Of course be prepared for a lot of water and
junk. The pump itself is directly behind
the filter housing, check there to see if anything is stuck in the plastic blades. It should turn freely. Your washer door will not open if there is
water in the washer, just some kind of precaution, so don't force the door.
