Sounds like the Ipad is getting out of "readable" range of the WiFi signal. You might log into the router and change the channel to channel 1. If that does not work, try another channel. If no channels work, you will probably need a Wifi extender to get the signal upstairs and readable for the Ipad.

I have just changed from a Netgear DG834G V4 to a Netgear N150 (Supplied by Orange) Router and the signal is now virtually non existant in parts of the house (upstairs and further away downstairs rooms)...

Netgears products are terrible with non support what so ever. I'm sure you had change your router already, but if your ISP could provide you with a different brand, the problem will disappear.

Netgear wifi router

1) does it lock up completely or will it work hard lined when wifi fails?
2) do all devices wireless fail or just a single device?
3) do you lose connection to the wireless completely or keep the connection but lose access to the internet? (confusing but very different to me)

in the end you could narrow down the problem but if you have already reset to factory defaults and set back up again and again then it may be time to retire that old router.

Forgot password and user name and i never had put a emial

default password is password

Looking for the NETGEAR WNR1000 default password?

You probably have little reason to access your router on a regular basis so don't feel too bad

f you've forgotten the WNR1000 default password.

However, when you're troubleshooting a network problem and need to get in to the device,

the WNR1000 default password suddenly becomes very important.

For most versions of the NETGEAR WNR1000, the default password is password. As with most passwords,

the WNR1000 default password is case sensitive

Be sure to change the default router password on your WNR1000 to something more secure as soon as you're in.

Then use a free password manager so you'll never forget your new WNR1000 password

hope this helps

I cant haave internet on my ds lite

Nintendo DS handhelds will not work with WPA wireless encryption, only with WEP, or with unprotected wifi networks (not advised).
Check your router settings to see if they conform with the encryption allowed with the DS.

Connection is intermitent. I receive signal and it works fine for 5 minutes. Then the signal continues but I do not get internet access netgear wnr1000

Do you have anything else on the network besides your computer? If you do, it may be a conflicting IP address. I was told by the Comcast tech that the WNR1000 doesn't allow additional routers on the same network. Have to upgrade to a WNR3500 for that. When I disconnected my wireless extender, it fixed the problem.

Router loses connection

Somebody else on this site had similair troubles and it was down to the fact that the cable company change the IP address of the connection frequently. Now, if this is the case your router will lose connection if it's a seperate modem as it will lose the modem IP address. I would contact your provider for a solution if this is the case.
