Hi Replacing the Door Gasket

If water leaks through the dishwasher door, the gasket is probably faulty. Open the door and examine the gasket. It should be soft and resilient. If it's worn, cracked, or hard, it should be replaced.

Once the gasket is in place, check it for fit against the door frame. It should fit tightly with no cracks or bulges between the gasket and the frame. If necessary, tighten or loosen the retaining screws, or refit the gasket in the clips or the door channel. Then run the machine through a washing sequence and check for leaks.

If you spot a leak, and the gasket seems to be properly in place, try adjusting the door latch. The trick is to position the gasket against the frame of the door without flattening the gasket or squeezing it too flat when the door is latched properly. Adjust the latch or the gasket until it fits snugly against the door frame.

It sounds like you have a faulty float switch. It's cutting off the water inlet before the tub is full.

I have a maytag jetclean quiet pack dishwasher. The top dishes are not getting clean. The glasses always have sandy residue in them and sometimes orange juice etc at the bottom of the glass isn't removed....

Possible that the pump is not working well to spray and inject with good pressure so that the dishes are spot clean.
You will need to simulate the washer without any dish and checck the performance to understand the fault areas.
The middle section also must spray well another reason your dishes are not clean when kept low.
The entire system has to be taken out and the water flow sections must be cleaned. the pump must work and spray with high pressure or else it must be clogged , the reason for sluggish spray.
So check the inlets, the water lines and the pump.
The rest sems fine.

Maytag Dishwasher Latch Sticks

John, I had the same problem and just disassembled by removing the dozen or so screws around the inside of the door, lifting the waterproof panel, and pulling up the latch assembly to see what was broken. In my case there were plastic pieces broken off of the latch handle and where the latch hinges on the back of the control panel-the latter piece is $50 to replace. unfortunately. Good news is the disassembly and replacement will be easy as a DYI. Sorry this is too late to help you, but maybe others will have the same problem. Bruce
