I unpluged mine and the light was still blinking when it was unpluged. I thought that was weird. So I pluged it back in and just heald the power button in untill the light went out. It went out within ten seconds. I pushed the power button again and the tv went on. WOOHOO!!! Just needed reset, I guess.
Did it again today. I unpluged the TV, pluged back in after a few minutes, pushed the power button for 10 seconds, then the light went away. I pushed the power button and it turned on. I just got ATT U-verse. I wonder if thats whats doing it. Or it might just be that the TV is ready to go kahput.
I found out this happened when I was turning my PlayStation on first. For some reason the TV couldn't power up because the PlayStation was taking power from the TV and not letting the picture come on. So when I turned the TV on first, then the PlayStation, everything was fine. I don't have the tv anymore. It's been gone for like over a year. Picture started to go out.

Panasonic plasma blinking red light 6 times again and agin wat to do to fix it
SOURCE: Philips 42 wont turn on
I am having this same problem. I have "fixed" this problem twice by replacing 2 failed capacitors inside. The fix is pretty easy and the cost of the replacement parts is about $2.50. Unfortunately, the fix doesn't last. The first time, the TV worked again for about 6 months, but the 2nd time, when I replaced with higher grade capacitors, I only got another 2 weeks out of the TV. I think it's time to cut my losses and get a new set. Repair costs were estimated at $600. ...just not worth it.
SOURCE: 42" Panasonic Plasma - Vertical red stripe 6" from left side
We originally had a red stripe roughly 3" wide running vertically on the ride edge area of our Panasonic 52" Viera plasma tv. It has now been joined by a solid black stripe of the same width running from the top to the bottom. Living in Germany and purchased at local PX long enough ago that the warranty is likely expired. Now what?
