My galaxy tablet just went dark. No screen or power. It was more than 50% charged last I looked an hour before. It has been plugged in for 20 minutes now and it won't turn on. What happened??
Re: My galaxy tablet just went dark. No screen or power....
It depends.. check the battery pack maybe this cause a over charge and check first if your galaxy tablet is still part of the warranty this will help you a lot.

Availability of the JP5 tablets varies depending on the state, facility and other ... Includes accessories like earbuds, screen protector and batteries or charger ...
There is usually a method such as holding the on button for a longer period of time. If it is easy to do the other thing that I've found with all sorts of "smart" devices which turn "not-so-smart" is to remove the battery for a minute or so, then put it back in. Many times the unit will turn on as soon as the battery is reinstalled and work correctly again after that. Last ditch effort, unless someone knows about the Galaxy, is a hard reset, there may be a reset button somewhere on the unit, I don't think the Galaxy has a reset button. If the unit still does not turn on it may need servicing.
1. Try the on button for 15 - 20 seconds if you know it is charged
2. Try charging for an hour or two then the 15-20 second hold on button, #1 above.
3. Removed battery (I'd measure the battery voltage while I have it out) wait ~1 - 2 minutes & reinstall the battery. If it doesn't turn on by itself try #1.
4. Nothing works start a service ticket with Samsung, URL: http://support-us.samsung.com
You might try searching there as well for an answer to see if there's anything I missed.
Did you allow the battery to run down until it was completely drained?
- If so then try the following;
Watch this video (link below). You should only remove the back cover, disconnect and reconnect battery cable. Disregard the rest of the video as I could not find one doing ONLY what you would need to do. Follow the instructions to remove the back of the tablet then disconnect the battery cable(careful not to damage the circuit board), reconnect the battery cable, and replace the back cover. Connect the charger, within a minute the screen on the tablet will pulse/flicker which is good news, allow it to charge a while, turn on the device, turn off the wireless wifi, click the power button to turn the screen dark again, and allow to charge for another 6 hours or till fully charged (when not connected to wifi the background processes will affect the charge time, on a weak charger it may not even charge like from an usb port on a computer).
Again, you should only be concerned with the video up to about the 1 minute and 15 second mark. You only need to disconnect the cable then reattach it. ONLY DO SO if you are comfortable doing so. If you have never worked on electronics before or are uncomfortable find someone to do it for you.
first go to a mobile shop ask hif it it is the problem of battry or some hardware problem inside the tab and also check the charger weather it works or not
Happened to me. My solution was to fully charge, then hold down power button for like one minute or more continuously. It causes some kind of restart. Last resource, Press Vol Down and hold, then depress power button and hold. This causes it to go back to reset mode. Good Luck.
