Can't access ebay

Create a account. I don't know about the Aussie ebay, but you don't need a account to browse ebay in the U.S., only to buy and sell.

if you still have access to it then you can just go to the change registration information page in site map and change the name and other details that you want to change.
1. log in to your account
2. click site map at the bottom of the page
3. then look for change registration information

if you don't have any more access to it you need to contact eBay to report it and you will be needing to provide documentation. condolence.

First, try to remember your log in information. If you forgot your user id or password then you can use the forgot password/user id link. If you are prompted with the account info questions you just need to answer 2 of those to get the reset password.

If the above steps will not work then you need to contact eBay thru the customer support link on the upper right and choose account security. There are 3 possible reasons why you are unable to access your account.

1. if your account's been compromised, you will need to talk to eBay's account security team. they will ask you several questions to verify your identity.
2. if you or someone else requested the closure of your account. Most of the time your account's termination will be pending but once 180 days passed then your account will be permanently be deleted. If it's already deleted then you will not be able to use it anymore, you will need to create a new account.
If it's only pending termination then you will just need to talk to general support, they will just reinstate your account and send you a password reset link.
3. If you didn't use your account for a long time, usually a year or more. eBay suspends inactive accounts, reason is that they are preventing others to access and use your account. You will need to talk to general support about it so that they can reinstate your account.


Hope this explains it. Better yet, try to clear the saved password in your browser for eBay and clear the cache and cookies of your computer. You may also try to use another browser.

If it won't work, then try using the forgot password page. If you are able to answer 2 out of 4 of the secret questions you set up then you will be able to receive the reset password email. If you will not able to do the above, then you need to contact eBay's customer support. They will just ask you for the email address you use to register your account, your full name, phone number and address or your date of birth. These are used in verifying your account information then they will send you an email with the reset password link. If not, then you will be connected to eBay's Account Security team for more questions so that you can gain access to your eBay account.

Another option is to create an eBay account.

First you need to check if you can still remember your account details. you will need it when you try to use the forgot password link.

Hover your mouse on top of the eBay home page and then click sign in. Once you are in the sign in page, click Password under the Box where it says Password you will see this: I forgot my user ID or password

Then you will be asked to enter your eBay user id then hit continue

then you will see the page that says confirm your identity to reset password. You will need to answer 2 out of 4 questions. If you are not able to (if you use bogus information) then you have another option. Scroll down and look for Need help? Here's another way you can confirm your identity. Click it. You will be seeing a phone number with asterisks or call you in a new number. Eitherway is okay. Then hit call me.

if you can't remember the number you can enter a new one and you will be ask for one of the security questions. then if it goes thru you will be getting an automated call with the 4 digit pin. you just need to enter it then you will be able to reset your password.

if this didn't work, you need to contact eBay's account security so that they can send you the reset email. They will just need to verify some information from you. here's how you can get their number with a 15 min pin:

go to ebay.com and then click customer support
click contact eBay tab and then hit I'm a guest
hover your mouse to account and then click Account Safety
you will then see the call us link on the right side, click it and you will get the phone number with the temporary 15 min pin.

I don't have a solution other than check your browser settings. I have accessed Ebay at both .com and .co.uk, so no apparent problems with the site itself.
