I have put in new cartridge and the printer still "says" that i need a new cartridge
So are you getting the toner out light? The light that looks like a stack of 6 dots? Or are you getting another symbol? If you are still getting the stack of 6 dots then your new toner must be defective.
You can reset this light thru the control panel. Just press C, then the far left key on the panel (Exposure mode key) then press C again then Exposure Mode again. So C, Far Left, C, Far Left. If done fast enough and properly the display should go blank. then enter the number 24 then press the print button. Then enter the number 7 then press print again. This will reset the internal counter. Turn power off for a few seconds then back on and the light will be gone.
Good Luck.

The drum is part of the laser toner cartridge
Open the front door
Press the square button in the center of the paper receiving are, it is marked with a small triangle
Press and pull, it will open a door showing the toner cartridge
Pull out the toner cartridge
The top part is black and the bottom assembly is grey
There is a blue little latch in the right side of the cartridge
Press the latch and the toner cartridge will be release
Remove the toner cartridge.
You need to replace the grey bottom assembly with a new one
A compatible assembly, which will have a new drum, will cost around
$30 at amazon an oem around $70
Reassembly and reinstall in reverse of the disassembly
I hope this was helpful

Thanks for reply. The drum replacement light is still flashing. I have made sure that I have opened and closed the side and front covers as per instructions and also turned on and off the printer, but still no luck! Any further ideas?
