Lg 8700 I was fooling with the phone and some choice came up " business or metalic". I chose the "business". I also chose a video as a background .Now I enter OK , for menu and all I can get is the contact menu, I can't get to settings and tools. The menu options do not come up in the lists or anyway.

If you go into the security feature under Settings ( the code is usually the last 4 digits of your phone number) there is a feature to erase contacts.

On the front keypad, press the ok button until you have the option to select contact list. Scroll down that list until you see keyguard settings. Press ok to enter keyguard settings and then go to option 2 - unlock options. Select two step unlock. This will force the user to press "ok" and then "clr" in order to dial out. This has resolved the problem for me...Good luck.

Copy all of your contacts from your smartchip to your phone/handset and it should work fine. Just had the same problem.

okayyy my phone did the same thing when it was neww out of the box and all i had to do was turn it off take out the batteryy and then turn it back on..

You have two options. One is to erase user data, and one is to use factory reset. They are both under Security under your Phone Settings. You will need your 4 digit passcode, which is either the last four of your phone number (default) or the 4 digits you changed it to. Factory Reset will completely erase everything, and it will be like new again. So.... both ways result in losing your contact list. If you have Verizon go under media center and run backup assistant, which will save your contacts to the Verizon servers, you can then re-download the backup assistant once the phone is reset and all your contacts will be restored.
