actually if you are a person who likes DIY, you can buy one lcd screen and then fix it by yourself.

the lcd screen is black and it cannot display normally. suggest you buy one lcd and then fix it by yourself.

Will the camera lens come out when the camera is turned on?

Can you still take a photo/flash/sound without seeing the photo?

Chances are the LCD screen has failed and would have to be replaced. (ive seen this screen problem when it goes to white or when cracked)

you basically would have 3 options,

1: send it out for repairs to Nikon? ( may cost close to what you paid)
2: Buy a used or new LCD on an auction site (if your gadget savvy and you can replace yourself or have someone do it for you) avg price $50-75?
3: sell your camera on an auction site to use funds to purchase another camera.

Try changing the batteries. I think that is how it says it needs more juice to charge the flash.

a new screen off ebay will run any where from 35 to 50. hope this helps

Ebay has sellers but im comming up short on directions to install.

Remove the battery, wait a couple of minutes, replace battery. (assuming the battery is fully charged. Check there is nothing jammed in the mech. if it still stays stuck.
