Dell D600 A16 bios version. Options to change time, date and internal hard drive password specifically say to use right left arrow keys.

Bubbabear: Thanks for the suggestion but + plus or - minus keys did not work.

Any other help would be appreciated.

Remove hdd password

You can change it but not 'remove' it. Simplest is to use '00000' as the default password.
Instructions
1 Shut down your computer.
2 Press the power button on your computer. While it is booting, press F2 repeatedly (do not just hold it down) until you arrive at a system screen showing a series of
options. This screen is called the BIOS Setup.

7 Write the password down and keep it in a safe place.
8 Hit Enter.
9 Hit the Escape button on your keyboard to exit the Internal HD PW menu, then hit Escape again to proceed to the Exit screen of the BIOS Setup.

How to setup bios for booting form usb or sdcard

Step 1:
There are many good reasons for booting your computer from a USB drive. For instance, if you want to try out another operating system without disturbing the main hard drive on your computer, then installing the new OS on an external drive is a great way to run the system through its paces and decide whether you like it.

This approach will offer you the flexibility of being able to run both operating systems on your computer. However, before you can boot the new operating system from the USB drive, you will need to change the boot order for your computer in the system BIOS.

Connect the external USB drive or pen drive to the computer before you power it on. Press the "Delete" key as the computer performs the "Power On Self Test" (POST) to enter the BIOS area of the computer firmware. The POST performs a diagnostic of components on the motherboard and does a cursory check of the hard drive, memory and processor. The POST only lasts a few seconds; therefore, press the "Delete" key quickly. Enter the administrative BIOS password if prompted to do so. Once you enter the correct password, you will see the main BIOS screen. Use the right-arrow key to navigate to the "BOOT" menu option at the top of the screen, and press the "Enter" key. Press the down-arrow key until the cursor is on the "Boot Device Priority" label. Hit "Enter," and press the down-arrow key again to highlight the "1st Boot Device" option. Press the "+" or "-" keys to scroll through the available boot options until the "USB Drive" or "USB-HDD0" label is the highlighted option. Press the "F10" key to save changes and exit the BIOS setup program. When the computer restarts, wait for the "press any key to boot from external drive" prompt to display, and then press any key on the keyboard to boot from the USB drive. Award or Phoenix BIOS Connect the USB drive to the computer. Wait for the POST to display on the screen, and press the "Delete" key to enter the BIOS. Enter the BIOS password if prompted to do so. Tap the right-arrow key until the cursor is over the "BOOT" menu option. Press the "Enter" key. Press the down-arrow key until the highlighted cursor is on the "Removable Devices" option. Press the "+" key until the "Removable Devices" label is on the top of the boot device list. Press the "F10" key to save the changes for the boot order in the BIOS and to exit the utility. After the computer restarts, press any key on the keyboard to boot from the USB drive when prompted to do so.

Fijustu ah530 corei 5 bios password

BIOS on a Fujitsu C-Series LifeBook b> Resetting the BIOS system of a computer can help revitalize the computer's usage. Oftentimes computers are "broken" when they are misconfigured in the BIOS menu of the computer before it boots up. When the settings are improperly selected, the BIOS prevents the computer from working properly. To get the computer back up and running again, the BIOS needs to be reset. The Fujitsu LifeBook C2111 has its BIOS system located on the motherboard beneath the keyboard.

Turn the Fujitsu laptop over with the computer powered off. Remove the AC adapter and push the battery release latch in and pull the laptop battery out of the Fujitsu. Remove the screw holding the hard drive in place and slide the cover off of the laptop. Remove the two screws underneath the cover that holds the hard drive onto its bracket. Slide the hard drive out of the laptop. Turn the computer back over and lay the screen down so that it is parallel to the surface on which the laptop is resting. Remove the small screw above and to the left of the keyboard with the Phillips screwdriver. Push the keyboard toward the screen until it disengages. Fold the keyboard over the screen and rest it there with the keys facing the screen. You will now see the motherboard of the Fujitsu C2111. Locate the small, round lithium-ion battery on the motherboard and remove it. This is the BIOS battery that stores all of the settings and password of the BIOS when the computer loses power. Hold the power button in on the computer to drain the BIOS system and leave the battery out of the laptop for at least 30 minutes. Place the BIOS battery back into the motherboard and reattach the keyboard. Tighten the keyboard screw that you removed earlier, and turn the Fujitsu back over and reattach the hard drive along with the covers for the hard drive and RAM. Push the computer battery back into place and attach the power cable to the computer. Turn the Fujitsu back on and the BIOS menu will be reset.
or b> Start the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots, if the computer is currently off. If already on, restart the computer and press the "F2" key while the system boots. The BIOS setup utility will appear. Press the right arrow on the keyboard and scroll over to the "Exit" tab. Press "Enter." A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down to "Default Settings" using the down arrow key and press "Enter." A dialog box will appear, asking if you are sure you want to load the default settings. Scroll over and select "OK" using the arrow keys and press "Enter." All BIOS settings will reset to the default value. Scroll back to the "Exit" tab using the arrow keys and press "Enter." Scroll down and select "Save Changes and Power Off." Press "Enter." The computer will save the default BIOS settings and power down. Fujitsu Lifebook T Series b> Restart your Fujitsu Lifebook T Series computer. Press "F2" as soon as the computer starts booting. Enter your current BIOS password if prompted. Use your right arrow key to select the "Security" menu. Use your down arrow key to select the password you want to reset. Press "Enter" to select the password. Enter the current password when prompted. Enter your new password or a blank password if you want to clear the password. A blank password resets the BIOS password completely, meaning you do not have to enter a password to enter the BIOS or boot your computer. Press "Enter" to save your password settings.
Repeat the process if you have multiple passwords set. Press "F10" to save all settings and exit the BIOS.

Arrow keys not recognized in Dell D600 bios

Try testing your keyboard on the system's diagnostics. Press F12 as soon as you see the Dell Logo and choose boot to utility partition. Select Test System and you will be prompted to its 32-bit diagnostics. Select Custom Test and select Keyboard as one of the test options. You will be having a test for your arrow keys on this part of the diagnostics. If the arrow keys doesn't respond on the test, you need to call Dell for the keyboard replacement. Just a heads up, most of the time, this is also being caused by motherboard issues. Prepare your service Tag or Express Service Code found at the bottom of your D600 when calling.
