Thanks fixyadude 1 but i did try the drivers link before i posted my question and as they don't feature the vf0040 i tried downloading a similar one but it didn't work. they don't list the exact webcam but i still thought that the next model up driver would work. but it didn't.
the other link doesn't work.
what can i do if the creative website doesn't feature my exact webcam? so frustrating that i can't use it.

i've lost my CD for installing my creative webcam, model VF0040, and not even the Creative website can help. I've tried that and it doesn't list the model and so I've tried installing the next model up but my laptop just doesn't like it!
