Download MARCO GAS FIREPLACE MANUAL PDF ... How to Safely Light Your Pilot on Your Gas Fireplace ...
Gas fireplaces have a button that needs to be pressed to allow the pilot to ignite. One you have ignition, the thermostat adjustment should fire up the burner. Remember, prior to the steps mentioned, your Gas Service should be ON. Gas available and the ON/OFF knob at the source (gas line) turned to ON. You may need a lighter, like that used for a candle to fire up the PILOT.
There should be a switch to change from "remote" to "ON".
Turn the switch to "ON", if the fireplace ignites, you may need to re synchronize your remote. If it does not, your remote control may be bad.
Bypass the remote to ensure your fireplace is operational by connecting the "TH" and "TP/TH" terminals on the valve with a wire or paperclip. If the fireplace lights up fine, then it is for sure a bad remote.
Universal gas fireplace remotes can be found HERE.
Not for sure what you have, but if you just purchased the house, there might be air in the gas lines. If it sat vacant and the gas was off, or if they has swapped meters/worked on gas lines? Try cycling the fireplace several times. Or look around for a small door opening or if it's mounted to the exterior wall, look outside for the supply line in. If you do find a valve in the closed position, be aware of the fact that it may be off due to a reason, and you may want a plumber/fire place tech to service it.
www.macro-fireplace.net is the manufacture's website where you can request a manual for free. I haven't located any others but I will keep you posted if and when I find one.
