Random flashing streaks on screen

I keep on seein random streaks on the screen of my mitsubishi dlp tv. Could this be from the cable box?

  • billy_blaze Nov 11, 2008

I have the same streaking happening on the left hand side about half way up only visible during black background viewing.  This sounds like a common Mitsu issue.  Hope you have an extended warranty

Check multiple inputs and multiple sources. Check your dvd player; does it happen there? If not, you are probably right to suspect the cable box.

When you are checking multiple inputs, you want to make sure that if your cable box uses component or HDMI, that you check your DVD player on the same style input.

The reason for this is that your electrical chassis treats the analog (composite, s-video) inputs different from the HD and digital inputs (component, DVI, HDMI).

If you try your DVD player and cable box on the same input and experience the same probelm, you probably need to have the electrical chassis rebuilt in order to fix a problem on the tv's FMT board.

Cost: $800+
Wait time: 4-8 weeks.

Mitsubishi wd-73738 turns itself back on

Hi,

It sound like the remote is powering off the cable box but not the TV. The remote control may need to be reprogrammed to the TV. When you press power it may only power off the Cable box. At that point, try pressing the TV button on your remote and then Power. If it does not power off the tV after pressing the tV button, the remote may need to be reprogrammed to the tv. Cable companies usually have the codes needed to program their remotes to the TVs.

Hdmi inputs are not working on my mitsubishi WD65738 DLP

That TV is suppose to have automatic input detection but if it doesn't work you can press the input button on the remote and then use the arrows and enter to select the input you are trying to use.

Call Encompass Parts 1800-638-3328 or look them up online they list your TV as well as Service Manual and Keep in Mind just because Light Engine was replaced 3 months ago does not mean it cannot be same Problem so if you have any warranty on it replace it again!

My dlp tv randomly shuts off and the timer light keeps flashing. What does that mean?

Without pulling out my manual, I'm pretty sure that means that your lamp is getting too hot and it's shutting itself off as a safety measure. The most common cause of this is a lack of ventilation AND dust build up on the filter. Get behind there and take a look and if necessary clean it out.

Someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong on this,

I have the tv in standard mode, but I am unable to

I bet you are using a cable box or satelite receiver. If so check for aspect buttons on the remote that control these devices. I know comcast says "HD Zooom".
