Several things: You will need to purchase the PSW conversion software to be able to transfer embroidery designs to your sewing machine. Also, you should have received a cable with your XL-6000 that allows it to communicate with your computer. The one that came with my machine has a pin type connector on both ends and it's known as a null serial port connector. I had to purchase another cable because the pin connector would not work with my USB ports on my laptop. I ordered one online and it came with a CD (driver) that you have to load to your computer to make it work. Another thing was that my newer version of Windows (7) would not run the conversion software that came with the sewing machine. There is a feature in Windows 7 that allows you to run software made for previous versions of Windows. Go go Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Run software made for previous versions of Windows. Hope this helps.
1. Your downloaded file must be unzipped. 2. The file needs to be saved in the format for your Singer. 3. Join this Singer support site for your Quantum and others. Ask your question there. http://www.futura-support.com/
I suspect it's a format issue. I had troubles getting my Janome to recognize my USB stick(S) Finally after an especially scathing email, they sent me a stick that worked.

The computer in the sewing machine can only hold so much. It's rally not very big. I expect the particular color block in your design is too "large" to fit in the computer. If you can break the problem block(s) in half, the problem should stop.
Your USB to serial port should also come with a driver. Check the packaging. You need to install the driver in order for your computer to pick up the adapter.
YES IT WILL.
