It doesn't appear that this card will work with Vista or Windows 7 as Jaton, never wrote the drivers for it. You could try downloading nVIDIA GeForce4™ MX4000 drivers but no guarantee.

I am attempting to install a video card that supports a second monitor and can not get it to work. I have tried several different cards. Is there a recommended card?

How are you connecting your two monitors? Is it that they one works, but not the other? You should maybe check your drivers for the card you're using and check if it supports dual screen.

If you want my recommendation of video card it does depend on your budget. However, almost all of the current Nvidia gaps are dual screen compadable and you should be able to grab the low end one for about $40-$60.

Hi dampierjacqu...

You need a dual low profile video card such as the one listed below, or any other dual low profile video card:

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 that I am running dual monitors on. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 professional from Windows XP and now I can't get both monitors to run at the same time. I have a Nvdia...

You should have 2 video ports on the 8400 GS card. One is the standard 15 pin VGA port and the other is the DVI port. You should be able to use these ports on the card to connect dual monitors. If you use the video port integrated on the motherboard you will bypass the 8400 GS card. Here's a link from Microsoft about running dual displays:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/organization/twomonitors.aspx
The other issue is whether your monitors are DVI compatible.

Pci e video card not recognized by windows 7 32 or the bios

You must connect a monitor to it otherwise it will not be recognized (disconnect the monitor from the onboard connector before that). If you can't see anything - even the BIOS - this way eiter:
1 - the card was installed incorrectly;
2 - the card needs extra power - connect that;
3 - the card is dead.

I just downloaded windows 7 and updated my drivers but it wont recognize my video card

Very strange. Windows 7 detects all graphics cards :S

Try Windows Update again, do a Custom scan and see if it comes up.

If it doesn't, you can download the drivers from here.

Best of luck!
