Updated tool for restore Windows hard drive data

If the hard drive will not boot, use the Windows installation disc to repair the operating system. If that fails, install a fresh drive and install the operating system. Then attach the old drive to restore your data.

If you accidentally erased your hard drive data, you may need to purchase recovery software, or send it to a company to recover your files.

I receive a blue screen for windows 7. I am unable to log into safe mode. Repair Your Computer on Advance Boot Options does not work. it restarts the same for safe mood I have tried Last Known Good...

Check if you installed something before this happens. Try to uninstall it or removed the device. You may also need the recovery disc which came with the laptop or make one or borrow one as long as when the key is asked you use the one for the laptop (normally found in the sticker on the laptop). Other than that you may need to re-install the operating system.

Error unitialized corrupt boot structure detected biohd-4 boot path, keep getting this after trying to install windows 7, cant boot disk anymore so cant install windows 7

try repairing the file system using chkdsk with /f switch. However, it is strongly recommended to run this tool only if you have a full data backup
. To do so, click \'Start\' and then \'Run\'. You can then type \'chkdsk /f <drive name>\' in the \'Open\' box and click OK. Here, the drive name should be exactly what is appearing in error message. Alternatively, you can opt for deleting the corrupt partition provided the backup is available. If no good backup exists, you should consider to use a Windows Data Recovery utility. These are powerful and valid Windows partition recovery utilities built to scan the corrupt or deleted partitions and safely recover the lost data. The applications are easy to install and use.

Cannot complete recovery or clean install windows Compaq Presario

You could have a Boot Sector Virus. you would need to run anti-virus software to try and remove this issue. I would recommend Avast or AVG. I have attached a link of website that microsoft recommends. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/49500/EN-US/

Trying to reinstall xp with recovery discs, now i cant get it to boot

If you can boot go to safe mode using F8, see if you can do system restore from start/programs/accessories/system tools.

If you cannot boot, or system restore does not work you need to reinstall Windows, either using recovery CD from Acer, or generic Windows disk. In last case you will need to reinstall driver after installing windows.
If you do not format hard disk or delete partition, you will be able to recover your data (documents, pictures, music, desktop contacts etc) after installing Windows.

Always better than incinerating your Acer.
