First, look on the back of your satellite box and look for one of the first 3 connectors on this site:
http://ixbtlabs.com/articles3/video/guide-p5.html

They depict D-Sub, DVI-D, and HDMI ports which are all compatible with your monitor. I would suggest HDMI, but any would work fine. You can get these cables at any electronics store (BestBuy, Walmart, etc.).

If you don't have any of these connectors on your satellite box, you will need to get a converters such as this:
http://www.amazon.com/Wired-Up-Premium-7-62M-Component-Cable/dp/B000QEDE76

If these links don't help, reply with what model satellite box you have and I can provide more specific instructions.

Good Luck!

Two telephone mastersockets?

First things first.

You want to drag the phone line around for the Sky+ HD connection?

Unless you use Sky Box office or other Sky online services you don't need to hook a telephone cable up to ANY Sky set top boxes.
The telephone cable is a means for Sky to monitor your box position and monitor your viewing choices.

If however you do use Sky's online services you "can" connect another line to you main line. Just make sure you connect the correct coloured cables to the correct pins in your sockets.

Further note...

For a Sky+ connection you need to coaxial cables coming off your satelite dish. Incase you didn't already know this.

New Sharp Aquos LCD 46 TV

If you hooked up the satelite box to your tv Automaticly the Satelite box is the one who pick up the channels (from the satelite)
In this case your tv is acting as a monitor only. Try to connect your tv with HDMI cable or COMPONENT cable for best picture. Don't use RF antenna input to hook up your Satelite Box. Hope this Helps

Can i hook up to my satelite dish direct or do i have to go thru my receiver first. Thanks; Delmar [email protected]

The satelite dish will not pass-through the video/audio from your DVD player. You will need to find an open area (preferably DVD selector) on your receiver to input the DVD video/audio. Most satelite boxes are one way devices.

Satelite box --> Receiver (satelite input)--> TV
DVD Player --> Receiver (DVD Player input) --> TV

or

Satelite box --> TV
DVD Player --> TV
