I have a Shure Beta PX2 Radio michrophone which has an imtermitent fault on the hand set. Failing to power up?

Possible cause...microphone dropped on the ground.

Or possibly the capsule is fried from too much spit getting to it thru the windscreen.

Or possibly a short in one of the 3 pins/wires located in the housing where the xlr connects.

Differences that are obvious:

• the grill mesh on the capsule is different (thinner wire);
• the colour is different (darker);
• the label is slightly different (eg text size and font);
• the wiring in the capsule is incorrect in colour;
• the weight is less (about 8g);
• the rim at the base where the cable attaches is a different design;
• when screwing the capsule on to the body there is not a lot of thread;
• the sound is not as good

Hello again..it's possible, just possible you have a fake beta 87a. A knockoff. Compare the physical characteristics of all your beta 87a's.

That is quite odd. The ULX series should get about 8 hours of battery life. It is possible that you got a bad batch of batteries. I have seen whole cases that are bad. Trying getting another brand of battery from a different store to see if you still get the same problem. If you still have the same problem, return it to Shure for repair.
