There are no fuses inside a refrigerator so the problem is with the control board - either it no longer powers the ice maker or the power cables to the ice maker have failed. it's not something to do with the ice maker itself, you would still get some signs of life from it even if it would have been defective. You must access the control board and check its output for the ice maker - if power is getting out then it's a break in the wires. You haven't told us the exact model so i can't be more precise on how you will do that: the board is usually at the top of the fridge section. There is also a power board in some models, situated at the rear of the unit, next to the compressor.
Hi john_jaeg556,
It seems like your auger motor was shorted out. That is fairly common with this model because water will drip straight down onto the auger motor.
You should be able to replace the part yourself if you're handy. To access the part, you open the freezer door first. Get on your hands and knees and look under the ice dispenser area. There is either a 4" x 6" plastic cover you can unscrew to access the motor, or you need to remove the ice bin and remove everything from the top down.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
