I accidentally dropped my casio exilim EX-Z1050 and i immediately tried turning it off, but the lens didn;t completely retract. However, my brothers were able to get it to retract, but not it doesn't extend fully and repeats "lens error". Is there any way I can fix it without having to take it to a repair shop or buying a new one?

try taking the battery out, and then putting it back in, and hit the power button a few times. i drop my camera all the time. make sure your battery is charged before you declare it broken. [hahah, i did that once]
Unfotunatly if the lens is jammed out it will need to go to a service centre for repair.
It may be repairable but 9 times out of 10 we have had to replace the complete lens assy. Is it still with in warranty? is so and it has not been miss used you will need to find your closest Authorised Casio service centre for repairs and further advice.
The best thing to do is to take into a camera shop or Best Buy and find out why it isn't working. It could be an easy fix and solution once someone looks at it.
Does the lens retract when you shut the camera off? Or at least press the On/Off button?
It doesn't sound like there is a problem with the lens if your buttons aren't working, it sounds mostly to me that a cable got dislodged and that has disabled your buttons and zoom switch.
You can try sending it to this guy - www.darntoothysam.com he might beable to help you.
Sounds like a lens error. Try taking battery out and putting back in. If it still wont go in then u r going to have to send it into casio to have it fixed.
Send into Casio Repairs. Call them at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 1. If you have to lie and tell them you already talked to tech support otherwise they will try and tell you to call tech support and they will just tell you what I just did. LOL
